Love FIOS, mind you, but it's still expensive as hell. I paid over $200/mo for a triple-play bundle until I called and bitched about it being too expensive. So now I pay $192. Huzzah.
One of the biggest lol things about these tv companies in our country is the insistence of giving us an incentive to buy a landline phone. Like it's actually cheaper to get a phone through them than not. I haven't made or call or received a call from a landline phone in at least 10 years, maybe more.

I wish we had FIOS in my area. I wouldn't leave Direct TV since it's elite for sports, but my internet is a ripoff and slow. It's Verizon DSL and it's literally the only one that's available in my area, despite living 1.5 hours from NYC and Philly, except for Comcast, which I would never ever go back to.

I pay £36 for a really good seat at Wembley every year.

Who is going to buy a ticket to a game because if they don't it will be blacked out? Seems like all that rule encourages is clubs/teams fudging numbers by buying up their own tickets

And I think it also affected the Chargers as well, whose fans responded to blackouts by going to the beach instead

I thought that was commonplace anyway

Yea it's a terrible real, but the point is every game can be on tv and people still go to the games.

Sky sports package cost £29.50 extra, does it not?

What's the break down of your package?
Yeah, sooner or later BT are going to up their TV prices, but with the EE acquisition, they are pretty much the #1 choice for an all-inclusive communications package.

Per month I pay:

Line rental - £18 (I paid around £220 up front for 12 months line rental and TV connection)
Broadband - £7.50
TV + BT Sport - Free
Mobile - £5 (200 mins talk, unlimited texts, 500mb data)

Looks like I can add Sky Sports 1+2 for £22pm, which is pretty decent actually.

Does Comcast cap internet speeds after streaming/torrenting? What tier of internet do you have? How do you like it? I guess I could be convinced to switched to their internet since mine is SO bad, but would never ever ever go back to their tv service. I use ESPN3/WatchESPN a lot for streaming. Don't torrent nearly as much as I used to.

I pay like ~$105 for Direct TV and have every single sports channel. No HBO/Showtime/Cinemax though
12-01-2015 , 12:17 PM
I have all the premium channels + all the sports I can possibly get. I supplement with league passes for various sports, too.

It wouldn't have to be a sellout but if 5,000 people or some arbritrary number don't turn up to the ground then we're not showing the game. I agree it's a stupid rule, but it's a way for the clubs to deter people from giving up the stadium to stay home and watch tv.

Is this called pulling an MK Dons?
No, Italians on the whole rarely fill the larger stadiums, one of the reason why Juve (by far the biggest and most supported club in Italy has a small stadium).

They have an 80k seater stadium!

Roma/Lazio have issues at the moment because they are putting some fence around the stadium so the ultras aren't going to the games now.

Yah, you could say that but AFC Wimbledon was formed too.

Correct me if i'm wrong, if an owner comes in moves the team to a different state, that original state can't have a team unless someone moves back there?

Thanks, wanted a break down. So you don't get any european football unless you get the full sky sports package.

What sort of broadband are you getting for £7.50 a month? I'm £40 a month for 200mb from VM.

This solution is just asking for a Packers "have a company buy all the tickets to put game on TV" issue.

kw you must be meaning 200gb because 200mb of download volume is **** all

i personally pay €48 for unlimited broadband (100gb would cost me 25€) and i'm really not happy about it. also shocked that you could get broadband for £7.50 a month

Yea but isn't Italy down across the board this year and the past couple years? I've seen games on tv where all you see is empty seats. I guess I just bought into the narrative and it's really just lol Italians

--

For the NFL (and all USA sports) question. If a team moves from a state that state can't have a team unless a team moves back is technically correct. But no city or state can just up and start a team. The league would have to approve expansion, which just waters down the league more with more ****ty teams and ****ty players so isn't usually done.

Yah, so you have a limited number of teams covering a massive country/population. Games are going to sell out.

Amazing that Choopa is still in business. Used to know the owner of it, about a decade back.

I get CL, EL and every major Euro league except Spain (which BT now also has the rights for) as part of BT Sport.

I get "up to 17mb". Fibre is up to 36mb (£15p/m) with a premium fibre package double that speed for £30p/m.

When did BT get the Laliga rights? I thought sky signed a new contract for three seasons earlier this year

Wow, didn't realise that BT had Spain rights.

What speed do you actually get with your 17mb?

And how stable is it if youre streaming stuff from NF or Amazon play?
12-01-2015 , 02:06 PM
Just get super fast internet, pay $10/month (on average) for a subscription to a dodgy streaming site, and enjoy every football game and sporting event in glorious HD - mine even lets me stream from my phone.
