It could have been, but, just looked it up to see who they were showing and saw that "Ian Holloway will travel across the country to follow the action".

Serious answer is first game I watched was Bolton vs Utd and fell in love with Okocha, now I'm trapped

Jay Jay Okocha is a helluva drug, but the comedown is worse than crack, meth, and heroin combined.

NFL has/had (might have got rid of it) a rule that if game didn't sell out game was blacked out in that region.

I don't think you can compare England to Italy because England is unique in that it has a thriving lower league. Championship is one of the highest attendance leagues in the world.

That rule makes no sense what so ever.

The bigger games would still be out with the 3pm kick off, so you'd be able to watch say man Utd v plop at the pub then go see your local team (lower league - which isn't on tv anyway) or even a premier league team which 95% of people already do anyway.

Blacking out in the region if it's not a sell out also makes no sense either because if there is that many people choosing to (what you would assume) watch a bigger game they aren't going to watch it anyway!

Fans would rather watch their club play than watch a random game as well.

From my point of view the entire set up for nfl teams is a joke anyway. If fans don't turn up, you can simply jump state and go where they will turn up and rename the team for that region. So you don't have what we'd class here as hard core fans. That may be naive from me as I have absolutely no interest in it but that's what I grasp from the whole franchise bs.

I pay £30 a month to BT, and get internet, TV and mobile, plus about as much football as I want. I think Sky and BT will struggle selling the new package for more money, as it's just too easy to get a good quality stream on the internet for the games you really want to see.

You're right but they've spent almost £2bn on right for the next couple of years. That's one hell of an amount of broadband customers.

It's good they are here though

Sky sports package cost £29.50 extra, does it not?

What's the break down of your package?

Pretty sure we tried to sign a lot of players that preferred to play elsewhere at the time

By preferred you mean pay the going rate :P

Have you watched a United game recently?

And while his conversion rate is obv good, his minutes per big chance there is quite telling.

Who is this Dean Smith taking over at Brentford? Wonder if they are regretting the Warburton decision yet.

Had to laugh at the Vardy thread on RAWK - getting all pissy because Vardy called someone a Jap in the summer.

Hope he unveils a support me top when he bangs his 12th in.

Also a friend of mine messaged me to let me know that one of my old tweets was featured in a Telegraph article a good while back. Needless to say I was delighted.

Yea can't you guys just VPN, make an American friend, and use their login for NBC as an example?

£30 for football AND internet is a pretty good deal. Sounds like you guys have more a la carte options than we do, as in if you only want football and sports and not actual awful tv shows/channels then you only have to pay for that. That's much better than our system

You wouldn't watch QPR-Bristol City if it was the only thing on on a Tuesday night?

Interestingly enough (I saw this on John Oliver, I think), Comcast is the second largest lobbyist in the US, only beaten by Northrop Grumman (military). And that's probably why the US consumer internet/TV market is stupidly expensive.

Love FIOS, mind you, but it's still expensive as hell. I paid over $200/mo for a triple-play bundle until I called and bitched about it being too expensive. So now I pay $192. Huzzah.

Well it was Italy's top division, Serie A, that had attendance completely plummet with the addition of a national tv deal that televised more (every?) game.

It wouldn't have to be a sellout but if 5,000 people or some arbritrary number don't turn up to the ground then we're not showing the game. I agree it's a stupid rule, but it's a way for the clubs to deter people from giving up the stadium to stay home and watch tv.

NFL got rid of it, but it was never really a problem except for Jacksonville. Then they realized LOL Londoners will pay ridiculous prices to watch that **** team and sell out the stadium whenever they come to town, so rule abolished.
