English Football 2015-16 - Leicester City won the league English Football 2015-16 - Leicester City won the league

It may not have changed anything as far as the odds go but we gained points on everyone in and around us. You know, that makes it a great weekend in my book. Your book is clearly different, I like my book better than yours. It's a lot more fun.

Thanks for the contribution KW, you're doing great work today.

Summary of the conversation today:

KW/others: Such a great day for United
me: Why? Nothing really changed
KW: lol aof

Keep up the good work man.

sorry, should have read the discussion before your post, though manc=man city

never mind, united will be happy to finish 3rd if that this year.

Will never ever bet pro mun Chelsea or spurs. And will never bet against ars. Regardless of how good an offer it is.

I'm legitimately fine with United fans being happy with their team playing better, LvG selecting a better side, keeping another clean sheet and winning a game while everyone around them ****s up. When I asked "why?" this is the answer I wanted. It wasn't a condescending question, I was genuinely curious about the ambitions of United fans and how they think they looked yesterday etc since I slept over at the gfs and missed the slate yesterday.

KW just has a stick up his ass today or something so it went "lol united" "lol aof' instead of a discussion between adults.

Really hope Sakho isn't out for too long. Best defender we have by a mile.

haha fair play, i did want to clarify for that reason alone...

I made the bet you were wanting already at the beginning of the season with someone here, cant remember who but it's going to be quite interesting by the looks of things. It may end up being a battle of the injuries.

As for both teams being satisfied with a point? What? Spurs dominated for 75mins. It was a point gained for Arsenal and 2 lost for Spurs.
When you say "the league", do you mean "the top four"? Seventh and below have probably never been so good.

ahh i love football....

Don't you guys think that there is a correlation between the mid-table clubs being able to afford Payet-Cabaye type players and the "top4" struggling?
I think it makes the league a lot better if anything...

it's an amazing league this year in the sense that no game is a formality, for any team

every team is super strong defensively and super quick in the transitions
11-08-2015 , 03:04 PM
Are those teams really a lot better or is it the fact the so called bigger teams have come back to the rest?

I mean we have been really bad this season yet still find ourselves within touching distance of the top. Leicester are sitting 3rd with nearly a third of the season gone.

Honestly, I don't know what to make of the league right now.

You cannot be serious, plop lost at home, chelsea lost again, arsenal, spuds and everton all drew and lost points.

We won. That's a good weekend from a United POV. Jesus is youre just going to look at the long term odds, what's the point.

I dont think the league this year has changed much other than the two obvious outliers, being chelsea and leicester. Assuming there will be a regression they'll likely both end up 5 or 6 places away from expectation but most other teams will end up close to where they were expected to finish at the start of the season.

we gained like 3 percentage points in the markets for the title (10->13%)

better than a kick in the balls

on a simpler level, we won and everyone else that considers themselves a big club didn't

They're definitely better. Most non top 6 teams have at least one skilled, creative player that while not at the level of the silva/ozil/mata at the top teams, can hurt anyone. Payet, Mahrez, Sigurdsson, Cabaye, Tadic, Bojan and countless other players are really good and before these players were always moving after a year with a ~10th place team or not joining these teams at all.

Yes it is a leak. One I'm willing to accept.

Yeah its interesting to see, city badly needs another striker than aguero. Arsenal needs to get over their own share of lol spuds baggage.

City has had a slightly easier start on their season compared to arsenal so its interesting to see if they can produce on the bigger games without strikers.

I dont know why people complain about the league this year, i think its one of the most interesting starts to the season in a few years. Relegation battle is played with some 5 teams(trying to be hopeful that remi can lift us to at least battle) Title is open for grabs for solid teamwork and teams capable to rotate and still produce results, euro places are open for all even palace/everton if we stretch a little.

Would be lovely to see leicester battle for 1-3 with vardy mahrez heater lasting little longer. Last year on boxing day all pundits were sure that they were destined to relegate and now they hold the most profilic striker on the league and are battling for Ucl places, lol variance

Payet is just behind Özil with chances created and just behind Lukaku in shots on target. Ofc Silva injury skews this stat a bit, but still

I mean should it be really arguable that the formerly known mid-table teams are a lot better this season? Stoke signed Shaqiri this season...STOKE!
11-08-2015 , 03:17 PM
Shaqiri might not be that great though. It's November and dude still looks fat.

I like Leicester to finish above at least one of Chelsea/Spurs/Pool/Everton. Think they will be similar to Newcastle when they got 5th I believe four seasons ago.
11-08-2015 , 03:20 PM
I Really hope Vardy wont make some ridiculous ŁŁŁŁ move to city in january
11-08-2015 , 03:22 PM
Liverpool had 16 shots inside the box today, 6th highest in the league this season. Poor finishing and weak goalkeeping cost us again.

Astonishes me that clubs don't spend massive sums on strikers and goalkeepers to the exclusion of everything else. Clearly the highest EV buying strategy.
11-08-2015 , 03:22 PM
Frantic, what on earth are you trying to achieve here?

It's a good weekend for United. We won.

Liverpool lost at home to Palace (who we were eviscerated by everyone for drawing with away from home) with Gerrard watching on.

Chelsea lost again with their manager banned from the ground.

City drew with the bottom team in the Prem.

You drew at home.

We are one win from the top of the table. In midweek we went to the top of our CL group and now are 1 home win away from qualification.

That is a good week and a good weekend for United and United fans. Arguing against that is just jealousy.

As an impartial(ish) observer I'd be delighted if Mahrez and Vardy can maintain their form. It's been a great start to the season between them godmoding, chelsea falling victims to karma and arsenal thumping manu 3-0 at the emirates I couldn't ask for more. Really entertaining and compelling at the same time.

TBTVDITW does not equate to greater competition it just means a higher standard across the board, imo.
