I think the big problem is our squad make-up is ****, rather than the playing style per se. It's sterile because we don't have any dangerous attacking players. Now, that could be down to LvG, I really have no idea how the inner workings of the club go but I think the main reason we are so toothless is because we still have a **** team but have papered over the leaks at least.

If we're really honest with ourselves, we really do have a **** squad still. Mata is quality but he is very far from being a wide man. Rooney royally sucks, the midfielders are solid enough but really kind of meh going forward, our fullbacks sans Shaw can't really attack and Memphis is dumb. Martial, De Gea and recently Smalling really the only players to be excited about.

A bunch of arguments can be made, I reject completely that LvG is a bad coach or manager but the fact that we haven't addressed such bare necessities like having a single wide player that can be relied on for solid offense is pretty damning. Rooney also has to be sent to the glue factory.

My personal hypothesis is that we would be murdering everything (playing this style) if we had pace/skill on both wings with martial up top and being able to put mata in the hole.

I stand by most of those comments. Coutinho is just a brilliant match winner and had 2 incredible goals today. I can't stand lallana and can see klopp fading him out eventually.

I have all the faith in the world in klopp and I'm excited going forward. We just need much much better players in the side so the likes of Adam lallana and Emre can aren't starting each week

Coutinho has got learn some consistency, too often he goes missing even if technically he's usually on point.

Lallana's a lot better than you're making out, again technically on point, needs end product though admittedly.

Agree on coutinho. He's not supposed to be our match winner and goal scorer and is infinitely better when he has a pacey striker in the side. He was poor for like 4-5 games in a row though. No doubt about that.
