A major comeback is brewing in Norway. Sven O is making a comeback in the 5th tier 7 years after his last competetive match. I expect him to be picked up by one of the big clubs next summer after dominating old fat blokes for half a season.

"Lets the ball do the work", "the extra yard is in his head" etc.

#Breaking: Leeds chairman Massimo Cellino has been disqualified by the Football League after failing its owners' and directors' test.

Cellino disqualified by Football League after he was found guilty by a court in Sardinia of an offence under Italian tax legislation

Bologna or Cagliari or whichever Serie A team he was at beforehand also had a ridiculously long list of managers iirc.
The idea with money laundering is to get it back yourself. Handing shed loads of cash to outgoing managers isn't a very effective way of getting your money back.
It's a very effective way of throwing money away though.

Yeah probably not the best choice of words. What I meant was perhaps they are entering the pay-off amounts in the books as larger than they actually are.

That would leave them with more, unlaundered, money.
I think you're reading too much into it.

Haha yeah I do understand that much, despite my initial post being worded poorly. It should be relatively easy to see what I was suggesting though.

Anyway I agree that I most likely am reading too much in to it, i just find it hard to believe that it's all above board. I just googled and he went through 36 managers in 22 years at Cagliari, seems strange that he hasn't learned his lesson yet.

Gegenpressing and triangles galore!

I think it's implied that the outgoing managers would be in cahoots. Seems far-fetched at first but we know that they all agreed to manage Leeds so not exactly squeaky clean characters.

I don't see taking the Leeds job as a shady thing to do.
If you manage Leeds, you are free rolling.
If you don't look like getting promotion you get sacked, but you aren't there long enough for your reputation to be tarnished, and you get a wedge of cash.
If you get promoted, well, you've got Leeds back in the Prem. You've brought balance to the force.

Probably worth mentioning that the 41 figure mentioned was a joke.

15 official appointments. 7 caretaker appointments (3 of whom were Neil Redfearn)

That being said, if they stopped sacking managers and spent the payoff money on players instead, they'd be in a far better position.

I understand where you are coming from but it's Leeds.

Having shed loads of cash getting spent by managers is easily recouped by awarding the most lucrative contracts to friendly faces/companies.

More than one way to skin a cat.

Not like we don't have any examples of clubs behaving this way.

It's all very interesting speculating in this way but I think the answer is far simpler. We just have a coke addled f**kwit for an owner.

Yea, human incompetence is far more likely than a clever money laundering super-system
10-19-2015 , 02:52 PM
I'd be so frustrated if I was a Stoke fan.
They're playing a mouthwatering attacking three. Unfortunately they've only got Joselu in front of them.

(having said that, he'll probably go out there and score a couple)

Wasn't really speculating about Leeds as I haven't read anything about the situation and I didn't mean for it to come across like that. Was just replying to Pete's point and showing it could actually be a way of laundering some money seeing as a few gents have already run that scam over the last few seasons.

Quite fancy Stoke to nick this one tonight. Decent price too. Go Stoke!
