Terrible for the neutral, but exciting for a Liverpool fan to see attacking midfielders track back, a high line, pressing traps, blocking off passing lanes and a compact defence. Badly need an upgrade on Skrtel and Mignolet though.

Liverpool made 50 more sprints than Spurs (614 v 564) & were the 1st team to run further in a PL game than Spurs this season. Gegenpress

so we're starting with a centre back pairing who last year we loaned out to port vale and tranmere as despite having to play a right back and centre mid at centre back they were surplus to requirements

-Can't hate that result given how toothless the attack is at the moment. Normally you don't want to settle for a lone point, almost no matter who you play. But the math changes against a club you may be battling with for a spot in the table. And given what we've seen so far this season Spurs can certainly be part of the race for 3rd and 4th.

-Spurs may be disappointed not to capitalize at home against a wounded opponent in transition, but it was a major improvement on recent results against us. Given their own injuries I don't think they should be too upset. Seem like a well-coached side that just needs to get their attackers firing more consistently.

-I was disappointed in the band-of-three attacking midfielders today. With a completely raw striker deployed on his own by necessity, we needed more invention from them.

-I love Phil, but he isn't a #10. He was at his best much deeper as one of the shuttling MFs in the diamond, where he has space to thread through-balls and rip shots. His inability to impact games when he's our best attacker gives me hope that the Spanish giants won't come for him.

-Can appears to be enjoying life under Klopp. He can be like a AI defender from a '90s video game at times (bee-lining directly at the ball with no regard for where it's going), but at his best he's a box-to-box animal. Definitely up for Klopp's demands and I think he cemented his place today.

-We have got to get better at corners. I think we've run well to score a goal and almost bag a second given the quality of the service.

-Surprised Klopp didn't make changes sooner and ended up leaving a bullet in the chamber. We seemed super gassed, and I was extremely worried that a sloppy turnover might cost us late as tired players kept surging forward only to get trapped behind the ball after a lazy pass.

-At the end of day the Klopp momentum should live to see another week, and his Anfield debut looms. His default attacking lineup today was so far from ideal that a road draw is fine, and we'll all be pumped to see what happens with a better lineup and a full week of prep.

I'm the only one who mentioned Torres as far as I know, and it was purely in reference to his gliding pace when he hits his stride. I was very clear that the comparison dies on the vine the moment it's time to shoot, pass or decide where to go.

FWIW I thought he did okay today. Had he been partnered with Sturridge/Ings (maybe Benteke, not sure though), or supported by Firmino, Hendo, or someone else capable of making a useful run, I think he could've been more effective. He's a 4th/5th choice forward for a reason though.
