The Anfield Wrap podcast just reviewed three books and one reminded of this post. Has anyone read

?

Sounds pretty interesting and also sounds like cliffs are LOL Voyeur and Brent and Holloway are sympathetic figures. Might have to pick it up. I've been on a tear of really enjoyable football books lately

Are these the cliffs?
-Don't run like aids for more than 3 games
-Don't overpreform, because that might raise expectations
-Have a lovely set of hair

I won't even get to see it since I'm traveling. Going to be in Copenhagen around that time.

“It must be a big anxiety for the owners, who need to fill the 54,000-seater Olympic Stadium with entertaining and successful football next year. The fans won’t turn up if West Ham are playing fantasy football and losing 5-3 every week. Slaven Bilic is the new man in the hot seat and good luck to him. He will need it.”
Hoopie to confirm but I think if we lose a bunch of games 5-3 but sprinkle in some occasional huge upsets like beating Man City & Arsenal this year, score a bunch of boss goals and don't get relegated the tickets will sell themselves.

God forbid people go to a football match and have a good time watching the product on display. No sir, much rather have baseball hat bunkering 2 lines of 5 in front of our own goal for 90 minutes to get a heroic draw. **** that ****.

What was all that about Bayern Munich being cheap?

A Bayern Munich fans' group is calling for a boycott of the first five minutes of next week's Champions League match at Arsenal, in protest at "excessive" ticket prices. FC Bayern Worldwide say that including fees and postage, fans will have to pay more than 100 euros (£74) for the tickets whose face value is £64.

It's the game at the Emirates.

And it's a ballsy move as they'll probably miss the first 2 goals
10-15-2015 , 02:46 AM
What is the right price for a ticket anyway?

The equivalent seat is 60euros at Bayern and Category 1 seats are 100euros for the reverse fixture. The myth around German football being cheap infuriates me.

Are Bayern fans just mad that the euro has gone walkies over the past year and their club chucks on about a tenners worth of fees.

That being said I do agree that something needs to be done. I'd go for the tv companies putting matches on whenever they please and changing arrangements at short notice as something to help fans first.

Firstly, he should shut his whore mouth, obviously.

He will argue that he did his job with us. Got promoted, kept us up, had us in the mix for a good league finish and then the board didn't back him in January in his final season. He made some baffling decisions and some bad signings but history will view his reign favourably.

He is right - I think we will struggle to fill it. A lot depends on (a) ticket price (b) the quality of football on offer and (c) the stadium. We are planning on basically giving the **** tickets away under the guise of some community participation, so expect schoolboy international atmospheres at some games. Bigger sides will have their support move outside the away section, which will lead to trouble. On quality of football, at some point we will be ****. At that point, attendances will dip, because our core fan base is not big enough for that stadium. As for the stadium itself, I will be kind and say the jury is out.

If we turn up and play like the 1970 Brazil side (in before HH tells me that the current Gillingham team are better) for five years, we might pack it out every week. Since we probably won't, after an initial period of interest in the stadium, unless we are good, there will be empty seats.

Your ground's too big for you...

^^ good post, agree on all counts. ****, hadn't realised that the first time I go I'm gonna have to listen to that being sung by the away fans.

Maybe you can help with this, I want to go to the home game v Saints, not a member anymore (live abroad) and **** paying membership on top of the ticket for one match. Will it reach general sale do you think? It had better do since my other option will be Villa away and I hate that ground

Good question - I wouldn't be surprised if you managed to get a ticket there. It's at a ****ed up time of day on what's basically the Boxing Day bank holiday - I am sure there will be plenty with family commitments etc. that will want to shift tickets. Even if they don't make general I'd keep an eye on the ticket trader and maybe try the kumb.com ticket section.

- if you are having any issues get in touch nearer the time. I refuse to believe that you won't be able to get a ticket for that game somehow.
