I don't think most people are expecting Pool to be much better this year. They're hoping he can be there for ~5 years and in that time, spend money much better than Rodgers. The problem is that from some leaked stuff, the transfer committee seems pretty dumb.

It is unlikely Pool will get say, three players as good as Gotze, Lewandowski and Reus in the next few seasons.
