So, I started watching Mr. Robot after reading about it ITT. It started out really, really good, but the last episode I watched went full Naked Lunch. How the **** do you let something this good take such a massive nosedive? Holy **** lol.
Anyways, the whole atmosphere and vibe of the show reminded me of that show called
Utopia. Now, kingweed has already heard me praising this show into the high heavens (and he's a glue sniffing, ****ing idiot for still not having watched it), and now you guys get to, too.
This show is a ****ing masterpiece. If you liked what Dr Robot could have been, I'm pretty sure you'll like it. It's obviously not comparable 1:1, but as I said, the general vibe is there. It's interspersed with bits of pretty good and dark humour, too. Plus, the cinematography is ****ing excellent. Often times shots are composed like paintings. And it's pretty short, which I think is an overall plus, too. It doesn't even give itself the time to start sucking in, I don't know, season 8 like so many other shows do. Two seasons, six episodes each. You can binge watch this on a weekend if you want to. Perfect.
I'm not going to say too much about the story, as I myself usually like to know as little as possible about the actual plots before I watch something. So, as briefly as possible, it's about a group of people , a mysterious, prophetic manuscript (The Utopia Manuscript), and a seemingly omnipotent organization chasing those people for this manuscript.
Oh, and the muricans are planning to make a murican version of it soon. So watch it now before they make it into a turd. And for the hipster-cred, of course, of having watched the original before the murican turd came out.
