Missed him as well. To my credit I forgot Van Nistelrooy had 2 o's in his name and didn't know how to spell Pavyluchenko (sp?) so that's 2 I should have had

Got 49. Failed on Saunders, Leonhardsen and Gary Mac

If RA thinks that top 4 is in danger then TSO is gone, not sure how many more poor results that'll take but if PLOP bring in Klopp and start winning the end is near.

****in 44/95 kill me now

If Chelsea fire Mourinho and then beat plop to the punch on appointing the German then it would be the ultimate:

A statement of support from the board / chairman is only ever happening when the club is in, or approaching, crisis. So in many cases, the situation doesn't improve and the manager ends up leaving, and all the smart media hacks point back to the dreaded vote of confidence.

But yeah, the fact that Chelsea even feel the need to state their support for Mourinho suggests his job is less secure than it was at the start of the season. It's a kind of a silly paradox really, but there's some logic to it.
Right. The vote of confidence is a symptom, and usually a rather late one, of a club's troublesome condition.

The thing that might make this an exception to the trend (the trend of: vote of confidence ----> the sack) is that Chelsea have a lot of talent. More often than not, teams fire managers mid season when they are in danger of going down, and they are in danger of going down because they suck. Chelsea don't suck, they are just playing badly. So, unlike most managers who get "the vote", there is in this case a real hope that the team will start winning again.

Incidentally, this is why I personally think the tactic of changing managers has gotten such a bad rap. Clubs might get better outcomes if they based the decision on the question of, "would we do better with Manager X than our current guy", the way they might ask, "would we do better if we played Navas instead of Nasri", as opposed to only doing it as a last-ditch desperation move after the club has become a comprehensive disaster.

This is why you saw lots of former players and managers expressing surprise at the Rodgers move. They've been conditioned to expect the pattern of allowing a manager to finish wrecking the season before he gets replaced. Almost like its a criminal trial: we must have prof beyond a reasonable doubt that this man is going to destroy our club before we will act.

My advice would be switching to something resembling the civil standard: is it more likely than not that this buffoon is going to mangle our season and perhaps our very club beyond recognition? If yes, sack.

markts seem pretty sure bout klopp for pool but it seems a pretty weird one from his pov imo. buyern job'll prob be available in the summer which is impossible to be sacked from as it = 9 titles in 10 years, chelsea job would mean about £30m for 18 months-2 years of work and the RM job will be along soon

maybe pool will just decide to pay chelsea type money

What's the difference between sucking and playing badly?

Man utd job seems like it could have a taker by the end of the season too, i mean how much time is louis van gaal supposed to get playing mediocre football winning no trophies and finishing 4th. Real Madrid's job will also be available as soon as Real lose two games in a row and there are only so many managers they havent tried yet, I'd just wait if i was him

I think he's gonna turn it down myself

Think he's 1/10 in some places but I agree with all your points. So many better spots coming up.

Bayern
Chelsea
City
Real
Barca
United
PSG

Could all be potentially looking for a new manager in the next couple of years.

Obv Pep will get his pick first but then Klopp might be next in line.

They should make a reality game out of the sack race. Whoever runs our league nominates 5 interims, basically guys out of work, ready to step in should someone fail.

So let's say this season you have: Carlo, Klopp, Avram, Big Sam, Warnock to start. All of differing reputations.

If you sack your man, you randomly get assigned one of the five. When one manager goes he becomes one of the five. Sack Brendan, end up with Big Sam ----> Pool and Brendan -----> interim. Do Chelsea now stick or twist - knowing there's a 60% chance of Avram, Warnock or Brent? Will TSO be replacing Pulis at West Brom by the end of the season?

Don't like it? Screw you.

idea sucks unless joe kinnear is somehow involved, in which case it becomes actionable immediately

at least thierry's tragic run as the world's worst £6m pundit produced a highly useful gif

You can't play a high line with no pressure on the ball and the work rate of Rooney/Memphis was shocking, no Schneiderlin is also a big mistake.
was so bad

with theo up top(and without giroud) the two options against us are either
-press really high to force us to go long and lose it back immediately the majority of the time
-let us have the ball, sit deep and don't allow space in behind

utd instead gave our CBs and cazorla, who came deep time a lot, all the time in the world and started to press after about 30 yards but one of the most half-assed presses I have ever seen.

__________________________________________________ ___________________________________________
an example I randomly picked(there were about 20 other ones I reckon who were just like that)

gabriel on the ball, no pressure. utd disorganised.

utd's bad positioning gets highlighted even more when they start to press
martial doesn't cover anybody so schweinsteiger has to cover two players at once which means he has to give coquelin too much space(otherwise özil would go free)

a reasonable touch by coquelin, a turn and suddenly özil is in acres of space

The answer is probably until middle/end of 2016-2017 season

unless guardiola wants the job next summer which is the only way I see LvG losing the job if we get CL this season.

Yea that's just a disgustingly easy way to bypass a midfield. It amazes me LVG et al couldn't see what was happening.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association for remarks he made to the media following his side's 3-1 home loss to Southampton on Saturday.
