iirc last season we played largely on the counter vs all the big teams (not going to say I'm sure though, I just seem to recall this). Don't think there is much evidence that he is that inflexible considering that Arsenal are better than us with respect to playing the ball and surely he knows this (disregarding the fact that we are playing away from home).

In any case, Arsenal are simply a better side than us when it comes to possession and passing so regardless of what we try to do early on I think us having to defend deep and break is going to happen eventually. I just hope we don't concede until this happens though, if you are right.
I am not as down on LvG as a couple of Utd fans seem to be but if he tries to play the way we have been (away) against an Arsenal side that are going to torment us on the break, I will be disappointed.

skeptical. seems like theres a big difference between knowing the team a day b4 the game and knowing boardroom level decisions weeks in advance. not even sure what kind of sauce would have access to both sets of info

i could be dead wrong ofc. but seems fishy

I guess what he said implies that the decision is already made

Regardless, it's a strange situation. How things usually work makes me incapable of seeing how Rodgers keeps his job if they have a ****ty game vs Everton. At the same time firing him with no-one lined up seems like a mistake.

What makes you think they have no one lined up? Both Klopp and Ancelotti are sitting at home, waiting for the blitwphone to ring and shower them with cash.

Well it explains why he hasn't been fired sooner, the board have been trying to line someone up.

Also explains why he gets fired next week rather than now; the board have just got somebody prepared, but don't want to unsettle the team by sacking Rodgers 48 hours before the derby, so they put in on ice.

Yeah, I mean, I can definitely see them being willing. Just so used to lolLiverpool that I'm expecting anything tbh.

FSG are pretty cowardly from a PR perspective, I find it hard to believe they'd fire him right after Liverpool beat Everton 3-0 or something (not saying that will happen)

I would think they'd wait for a loss so they can start leaking dysfunctional locker room stories or something

Possibly. Seems weird. I remember at the time there was talk that Woody thought he was going to be out bid as well, so there may be more to the story that we know.

can't wait for the RAWK meltdown when Brent gets sacked and they go with another King Kenny type.

Our defensive issues are systemic which compounds the individual errors.

The Twitter ITK's are all over this too.

There were rumors last week that Ayre was at Melwood and the following day it looked like a clear change in the mentality of Rodgers. He hardly celebrated the goals against Villa and came out with some really strange comments in the press conferences since.

Maybe he's got the hint that his time is up and is playing nice so he can get his reported 8m payoff

'King Kenny type' being someone who has won everything, loved by the support and respected worldwide?
10-02-2015 , 02:04 PM
You just know our next manager is going to be Howe or Monk.
10-02-2015 , 02:09 PM
Here's the guy saying that Rodgers is gone.

FSG just getting the Derby etc out of the way. Rodgers will go the week after. #LFC

I think they go with an experienced winner if they do sack Brendan. Still think they will give him the season.

Hoping Gray is fit to return as well, we look a bit toothless without him.
Barton and Gray start.

GG Rotherham.

BR is 2/1 to be the next manager to leave. Consty you better refund me this when liverpool trashes the toffees on sunday
10-02-2015 , 02:28 PM
Lol I've put you in an awkward spot! Should I have kept quiet? I'm inclined to agree with Baids though, how can you really know something like this?

Better still wait for Pool to win the derby and back Rodgers out for a new and improved price.
10-02-2015 , 02:47 PM
If he actually knew with any certainty, the price wouldn't be 2/1 still QED?

Or there's so much money on Dick getting sacked on Saturday evening it's all cancelling each other out
