Haha. We don't defend fine. We haven't defended fine since Rafa left the club

Bad defenders making bad mistakes isn't variance.

Prepare to be worried when we come up against the better sides in the league and not bottom 6 sides.

Agreed, and we are making too many errors. That said, I don't think our defenders make that many more mistakes than others, we've just been unfortunate in that they've been punished a disproportionate amount of the time.

Liverpool's defense are probably the worst in the league at dealing with crosses while Everton are pretty good at getting quality crosses into the box. I can't see anything but an Everton win.

In short: no we haven't defended fine.
Also - Gomez muscled off the ball against West Ham by an eight stone weakling for the opener.

Are they? I've watched most of Everton games this season and I don't think that's the case

I've only watched the highlights of one so all my assumptions are based on that.

yeah, Everton are terrible at delivering (and dealing with) good quality crosses. It's been a major complaint of mine since Moyes left.

Think the people snap calling arsenal this weekend havent factored in that the dynamics of the game this weekend will probably be different. Utd will probably have less of the ball and play more on the break than we have all season. Memphis and martial could cause major problems in transition for a d-line without kos

Tall Paul-- looks like the Burnley game will be on American TV today, so I'll be tuning in. Should I expect Barton in the XI yet? I imagine he didn't come cheap and neither he nor Dyche plan to keep having him off the bench long-term?

Consty (or anyone else knowledgeable) - I'm wondering if there is any general trend to when (with respect to the time until game begins) line-moves are sharpest?

Hopefully he'll start tonight. He made his debut off the bench last week and improved our play significantly. The only reason he hasn't started before is because he was behind the rest of the squad in fitness, so if he's up to speed now I expect to see him play.

Hoping Gray is fit to return as well, we look a bit toothless without him.

I'd quite like to see us see deep and counter but LVG doesn't change his style of play ever so I fully expect us to press aggressively and try to dominate possession.

Asian money is the biggest mover, usually between 6am-9am UK time the morning of the game.

Significant team leaks around 2 hours before kick off will move it a lot, otherwise all teams are announced an hour before kick off and tend to get a lot of reaction if there's an unexpected name on them.

So the guy who tells me about the team leaks has just told me that Brendan is sacked next week regardless of what happens in the derby.

Ex-Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro says she was "at no stage" asked to testify by the Football Association over alleged derogatory remarks by Jose Mourinho.
