Something called Tom Heaton (sounds familiar though) selected as goalie for England. OAFK could really make a push

Butland should play these games over Hart

Dele Alli and Danny Ings called up, no Sturridge.

He's been in the last three (at least) squads.

Spurs should obv up Alli's wages to £150k a week as that's the going rate for England players.

in light of this - https://streamable.com/sjfn (i know the sum of these chances may not = 1, it's just an example) - does anybody here know whether or not any/most xpg models cap the expected goals at 1 in a particular phase of play?

Anyone should play these games over Hart. Needless to say Woy will continue to pick him, fat Wayne, old centre backs etc despite these basically being friendlies

take it with a grain of salt, but I think xG is typically recorded for all attempts at goal?

lvg style doesn't allow dangerous transitions as much, 2 good smart CMs who defend and can play the longer ball which allows them to be in position if that ball is lost by the attacker up the pitch

but mostly cos lolrooneymidfieldschemer

btw evans is obviously very good

Can't believe there is no:

goal line tech
offside tech
actual rules to whether something is a foul (by actual i mean real life consistent guidlines)
actual rules to whether a play is hand ball
REPLAY USE
replay center

Technology for goal line and offside decisions is a no-brainer for the top leagues.

I don't like what your "actual rules" would lead to in reality. I assume when you allude to inconsistent guidelines you really mean that the application is inconsistent? Rules in football are full of value judgements which is where you get your inconsistencies. It's the nature of the game where there are grey areas which some refs will call black and others white. I think a set of rules that tried to make situations more black and white would likely be terrible.

Given that goal line / off side technology exists, I'm not sure of the additional value of using replays. There are lots of great things about football but one unique and great thing is that it flows more than other sports do. Too many replays would encroach on this.

Keane only got 3 games and a 10% of his weekly pay fine. Where's the consistency?

I like how bbc refer to him as a 'footballer'. I played Sunday league once so going to put 'ex footballer' on CV.
