Would suggest Newcastle then bring back their most successful manager of recent years but would be hard to prise Pardew away from a top 6 club.
They have 14 points total since Pards left. Doubt any manager is going to make much of a difference, if any.

Nor does it mean they actually have the money to spend.

if you scroll 1/3 of the way down, only Man City have incurred higher losses over the last 4 seasons than Liverpool.

Plop have basically spent £220m more than Spurs over the last 4 seasons, and £150m of it was money they don't have, or more specifically money the owners have pumped in for zero return. They are not going to do that indefinitely, especially when Man City, Utd and Chelsea are so far ahead, and their direct competition of Spurs and Arsenal are achieving the same/better results with no borrowing.

So from two excerpts I've read so far Fergie:
- kept Leicester up last season
- relegated West Ham several weeks before the season ended

That's why he's the GOAT I guess
09-25-2015 , 04:48 AM
Fergie holding a grudge? That's not like him at all.
09-25-2015 , 04:49 AM
Totally worth getting relegated to say that to Wes Brown tho.
09-25-2015 , 04:52 AM
Btw does Fergie read the book? if so I'm just going to get a hard copy

Bale GOAT has a lot to do with it

Have to say though I'm pretty impressed with how good spurs are given the age of the squad

Rumour has it Kane & Bale had to give their YPOTY trophee away to Levy so that Spurs could fill their trophy room

Delighted with him.
09-25-2015 , 06:49 AM
really? surely you would prefer to do liverpool and just spunk money everywhere for the added small% of top 4 instead of having this "amazing netspend" and achieving nothing. Its not your money and youre never going to go bust really so i dont see why you care about netspend as a fan

like you may aswell call it season over from day 1 as there nothing exciting or new to your season

I think Spurs fans understand that we have to be prudent for a few years to get the best deal on our new stadium, but we appear to have a long term plan both on and off the field and once our new ground has been built we will be in a strong position long-term to consistently challenge for top 4 and trophies.

As far as spunking £100m a year in the TM like Plop, I personally prefer to see us develop young talent, both academy players and players bought in like Bale and Alli.

FA want Guardiola to be England boss - Could Pep Guardiola be the next manager of England? The Sun understands that the FA are willing to pay Guardiola a staggering £10 million-a-year to replace Roy Hodgson. Many expect Guardiola to leave Bayern Munich in the summer, which is when Hodgson is expected to vacate the England post. Manchester City are said to be interested, but England also want him. The FA has undergone some belt tightening of late, but the FA would find the money for Guardiola if he wanted the job.

Some Spurs fan were unhappy that we never backed Redknapp in the January transfer window the season we finished 4th (but should have finished higher) and Chelsea won the champions league.

Spurs were punching way above their weight and were running at maximum potential with a manager out of his depth. But unlike clubs in different leagues who had punched above their weight I.e BVB and Atletico Madrid, these clubs are practically guaranteed CL football, where as the PL is far more competitive, so the plop transfer model isn't sustainable and LevyGOAT knew this.

Once we move into the self funded new stadium, and hopefully FFP is back in place, then Spurs will be playing in the best stadium in the league, with one of the highest turnovers in the world.

Okay with levy but not thrilled. He is a low variance man to have at the helm. He'd never let us go down, and would never jeopardize our financial standing doubling down on surpassing teams with far more resources. I agree that fans shouldn't care about owners making/keeping money, but if they spend a ton they can't truly afford or tolerate (sheiks and Russian mobsters exempt then), there is a strong chance they bolt and leave the club in the dirt.

It is infuriating to miss out on key players every year though over a couple of million that we can obviously afford. Lessons are never learned and now we have stuff like dier/Carroll midfield.
