I'm thinking it would be Bournemouth that goes down. They'll fight and do their thing ala Blackpool, but the gulf in £££ and infrastructure will do them in.

That comic strip makes me long for the days of Billy The Fish

Only way we don't go down is if either Mitrovic goes on some sort of Cisse-like goal scoring spree or Ashley bites the bullet and goes nuts in january.

Current squad is a joke, especially the defense

Also says a lot that our most dangerous attacking player by far is Janmaat.

Betfair currently has Sunderland, Newcastle and Aston Villa (I think) as the favoured three.

Man Utd: Ferguson demanded pay rise to match Rooney

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson demanded that his salary was doubled in the aftermath of Wayne Rooney's big pay increase in 2010.

Rooney was set to leave United before signing a deal worth £250,000 a week.

"I told them I did not think it fair that Rooney should earn twice what I made," Ferguson says in a new book.

"[United co-chairman] Joel Glazer said: 'I totally agree but what should we do?' It was simple. We just agreed no player should be paid more than me."
good day for the theory. old as **** hard leftie former shop steward with nothing to spend it on demands pay is doubled to quarter of a million a week.

often its not about having more cash, its that no one in any walk of life wants to be paid less than they think they are worth, doesn't matter how many 0s are on the end of the contract

imagine being pool-era sterling turning up to england training camp and having to look at ashley young's stupid face knowing he's on 4x your money

Bournemouth are rated like 9th or 10th with the syndicates so far fwiw. They're going to kick off as market faves away to Stoke on Saturday.

I enjoyed the part where Fergie claimed responsibility for Leicester avoiding relegation last season

Kept seeing people here posting xG tables without taking into account strength of schedule which i found silly. this is a more sensible metric than just xG difference as if all games were equally easy which is really bad when the sample is 5 games and the difference in SoS varies a lot

to be completely fair, what signing has been mediocre for united since van gaal took over? Rojo, perhaps, but that's really the only one I can think of.

probably stems from Neymar apparently saying coutinho would "fit in" at Barca. Don't know the context of the statement though.

In keeping with fairness, he was only a **** signing in hindsight. Hard to fault United spunking their wad over him when he was an absolute top-shelf player when he was bought.
09-22-2015 , 09:56 AM
Does Falcao count as a signing too?
09-22-2015 , 09:59 AM
I guess paying so much for a season's loan following a bad injury is pretty stupid but still, him doing a Torres was pretty unexpected and we got to cut our losses.
