Carlton Cole training with Celtic lol

Bandit - Payet is a curious one, he looks like a superb player on the limited evidence, but is 28. We have a very big stadium to fill and selling our most talented player doesn't seem like a good idea. I would imagine that the fee has to be around £25m, but I'd probably want more as he is so important to us.

MARTIAL

just caught up on MOTD2. Re-watched the Norwich goal a few times, and it blows my mind that Skrtel is allowed to literally drag a Norwich player to the floor in the box without so much as a shrug from the ref. He gets away with this at every corner every time I watch a plop game. Drives me mad.

No idea what you're watching LO. The guy runs right into Skrtel and tries to push him over, dunno what you want him to do.

Not saying he hasn't done so before, but take off the bitter tinted glasses.

Same and I'm a Liverpool fan.
I used to think he'd give up an absurd amount of penalties every season, but apparently he's on the exempt list and can do whatever the **** he pleases.

What a **** result for Pool. We are so brutally bad. Entirely reliant on Coutinho or Sturridge screamers. Pressing was a bit better but our defence retreats so much once they're past the press there are 50 yards to run into.

At least David Cameron ****ed a pig.

Anybody seen the Black Mirror episode about the prime minister being made to **** a pig?

Some episodes were poor but that was one of the better ones.

Coutinho - 28 shots on goal, 6 on target.

World class right there. Great character.

best case scenario:
pool lose wedensday->
out of the cup (win)
rodgers out (win)

yeah I was kinda hoping Plop strung the fans out a little longer - was thoroughly enjoying the "Plop=Arsenal=City" and "Jordan Ibe" hot takes.

Always a sign you've got problems when your own "supporters" are hoping you lose a game.

losing the cup first round= plus EV
added value for BR going out makes it super good.

I think Coutinho looks very exciting with his Brazilian flair, but if you look at the end product it's just really not all that great. Can someone explain to me why Eriksen is almost never talked about and Coutinho gets all the hype when basically all the stats are in Eriksen's favor, they are the same age, etc?

Coz one of them is worth 100m and the other one disappears vs the top 8. Pay attention to thread narratives.

Eriksen is awesome...too bad for him that every top club is set in his position for years and he is pretty much stuck at Spurs for that reason
09-21-2015 , 03:58 AM
I suspect it has something to do with liverpool having a large deluded fanbase but thats just a guess
09-21-2015 , 04:08 AM
And Spurs don't have a large deluded fanbase?
09-21-2015 , 04:18 AM
theres bad and good everywhere but from my experience spurs fans are actually sensible in comparison. obviously not as large of a fanbase either

I can understand not being that upset about losing a match (for example a Mickey Mouse cup game), but when you actually want your team to lose you can no longer call yourself a supporter of that team.

I don't care how plus EV it is (and if it is plus EV to go out of the cup, why does the club enter it in the first place?), it's just wrong to root against your team.

I can maybe think of one situation where it might be acceptable and that's if by losing you stop your biggest rival (and I'm talking Arsenal/Spurs, Rangers/Celtic, Liverpool/Everton, Burnley/Venkys type rivalry) from winning the league. Even then I don't think I'd be comfortable with it.

I'll try explaining it in simpler fashion.
my priorities go like this:
3pts in the league > winning league cup
getting out of the cup first round = 3+ pts

so.... it's rooting for the team, not against

BAIDS can you check the math on this? Petr Cech is worth between 3 and 5 first round cup exits a season
