Re: English Football 2015-16
Pretty sure the BBC would put both a goal scored at 0.11 and one at 1.11 as 1.

LO's mum told him she would be back in a minute, and that is really at the root of this debate.

Re: English Football 2015-16
Actually I just checked the BBC website for match reports, goals scored at X.01 are annotated as X+1.

No they wouldn't.
A goal scored at 0.11 would go down as 1 on the scorecard and a goal scored at 1.11 would go down as 2 on the scorecard.
They go off what minute the goal actually happened in not which minute it was closest to when rounded off.
Think of it in terms of talking about history. If your talking about something that happened in 1904 you would say the 20th century, you don't say 19th century for everything up until 1950 even though it has a 19 in it and is closer to 1900 than it is to 2000.

OK then if you were taking a test and the question came up asking what century world war 1 took place what would you say?

Re: English Football 2015-16
By the sound of the discussion ITT, BAIDS desperately needs the tenner and doesn't like that some of the TV money goes to Germany.

It took place in the 1900's, which is the 20th century.
We are currently in the 21st century.

39suited its about principle. if lo doesnt hand over my rightful tenner it will be a stain on the impeccable reputation for fairness and attention to the rule of law which scousers have worked so hard to build up over the years

Re: English Football 2015-16

No they wouldn't as 0.11 is in the first minute. 1.11 is in second minute. This isn't hard people.
Quote:
0.00-0.59 - first minute
1.00-1.59 - second
2.00-2.59 - third
3.00-3.59 - fourth
4.00-4.59 - fifth
5.00-5.59 - sixth
6.00-6.59 - seventh
7.00-7.59 - eight
8.00-8.59 - ninth
9.00-9.59 - tenth
10.00-10.59 - eleventh
11.00-11.59 - twelfth
12.00-12.59 - thirteenth
|
It's not 0.00-0.59 first minute
1.00-1.59 first minute
same way in which
0-99 is the first century
100-199 is the second
2000-2099 is the 21st, the one we are currently in.
