There's a lot of lfc fans that want that to happen.
As far as I'm concerned, if City don't come in with the 50m we want, then hang on to him and let him run down his contract. We'd still get some money for him as it'd go to a tribunal.

Re: English Football 2015/16
can't the guys who "persuaded" Gerrard to stay "have a word" with young Raheem and his family?

No they've only ever managed to force Gerrard to stay. Failed to intimidate Owen, Alonso, Mash, Torres, Suarez. New mobsters are a high priority this window.

a relatively small part of sterling's value represents his on pitch contribution over the next two years, yet that's the only part that you (LFC) can realise if you keep him cause the **** will not re-sign.
add to that a £10m tribunal fee or w/e and i think you're still way short of city's £40m offer.
take it before they blast their wad in pogba's direction instead.

Should threaten his 12 children and dead dad, as one Pool fan kindly put it.

Re: English Football 2015/16
What if those mobsters told Gerrard, that if Gerrard tells anyone about their threatening bad things to happen if Gerrard leaves, they'll kill all of his relatives. Like this would've happened whenever there were those Chelsea rumors. Now that he's old, the mobsters don't care anymore, but of course Gerrard can't tell that he was once threatened cos he doesn't want anyone close to him to die.

Re: English Football 2015/16
Goat sterling goal celebration would be hiding a large envelope in his shorts, running to the camera and pulling it out/ opening it with Rodgers name or face on the paper lol

They could make money betting on him still being a Liverpool player when it was odds on he was joining Chelsea. I don't know for sure as I am no way connected to any mobs.
But the main thing for them was to keep Gerrard in the city, if he'd have moved to London he'd have been on some other mobsters turf and from what little I do know about mobsters they don't appreciate that kind of thing.
If you take 5 mins reading up Gerrard in his younger days had run ins with a few low level thugs and had to reach out to a higher up enforcer guy to protect him from those. Since then he was always in the higher up mobs pocket, even had to write a character reference for him when he was on trial. Pretty sure he was found guilty and ran away from court. At the time Gerrard was Liverpool captain and was a candidate for the England captaincy, you think he would have wanted to have put his name on the line vouching for an obvious criminal unless he was being forced to do so or else?

So much this. But the Arsenal-Aston Villa players missed a great opportunity to walk out for the FA cup final in a "Happy Bday StevieG" shirt so I'm less than hopeful
