Anyone care to rank those careers?
06-03-2016 , 04:42 PM
Hard to rank but all still professional players except Johnson (mental health issues) and Robbie Threlfall. Good to see Hutchinson still playing as well considering he retired with injury early on before making a comeback. Did have high hopes for Richards but walcott, micah and Johnson apart, seems rest of those names were picked out of a hat and placed on a teamsheet. Johnson / Micah probably genuine potential and talent, Walcott just overhyped speed player (not in the same way as Jose Baxter) at this point unless a big change.

This is just bad. HendoDOnk should be nowhere near the starting 11.

The first time Walcott has legitimately been top of an ability list?

That's awful. That team winning the Euro's would be an upset on par with Greece/Denmark.

True. Lay lay lay
06-03-2016 , 05:54 PM
yeah look any team with tblitw top scorer in it is not going to be on a greece/denmark level of upset

--

i wanted to shoehorn vards into the lineup but he didnt look up to much out wide in those friendlies

kane
sterling alli studge
wheelchair dier
back 4
oafk

sub out wheelchair for knackbreasts if he must be included. as the german finance minister reportedly said, i dont like it but i'll have to go along with it

did he say "Ich nichten lichten?"

Pretty funny that out of this front 6 we have 3 fellas with 0 minute of experience combined in international tournaments playing for lolspuds, a guy who barely played the 2nd half of the season and was really bad and 2 guys made of paper.

Add to this a mediocre back 4 and I guess high expectations are justified.

if i was rich i'd lay the **** out of that team
06-03-2016 , 06:02 PM
yeah well your best player is hazard and he had a worse season than rooney so eat it pal

edit: i dont really get the made of paper complaint btw, everyone brings it up and its like so wat. the main downside of wheelchair/studge being crocked is that you have to pay his wages while he spends his life in the physio room, which for an international side is not a consideration. play them till/if they get injured, then replace them.

aftermath is not england's problem.

'oh we better not select wheelchair cos he might get injured and then we'd have to play henderson. so lets instead select henderson' <- wat

started peaking at the right time though : momentum

but seriously i don't have high expectations either, sometimes you just got to take a good look at the names on the team sheet and come to the inevitable conclusion

momentum > international experience > horoscopes

that's fine for sturridge but in Wheelchair's case we're talking about someone whose paperness led him to not playing at all, all season and is expected to jump right back into action at the top level. All this time spent in the physio room and not playing actual football has an impact over his fitness and overall performance on the pitch. When's the last time he played a meaningful game?
06-03-2016 , 06:16 PM
villa must have been pretty tough for him.

Nobody even remembers if Wil****e is good anymore. Can anyone actually remember a 500 minute sample of him? This is just Rosy Retrospection here. Reminds me of the time Chelsea were going to sign the fella that didn't even exist. People thought he was pretty good though.

idk and idc, when i watch him play he does stuff like get the ball and run at/past an opposition player. sometimes he gets the ball and passes it forward to a player on his team

these are things which hendo and milner dont do

and pls no one quote some whoscored stat at me showing that milner has 7th most successful dribbles/game in the PL or something cos ive seen him play, and maybe he was useful once idk but right now as of this time he's a cart horse. with a box for a face

-----Dier----Jack-----
Lallana--Rooney--Alli
---------Kane--------
06-03-2016 , 07:23 PM
---- Dier ---- Milner ----
Vardy --- Alli --- Sterling
--------- Kane ---------

But this is just an imaginary side cos Rooney exists.

The team I'd most like to see for aesthetics:

Hart
Walker Smalling Stones Rose
Lallana Wilshere Alli Sterling
Sturridge Kane

Team with best chance to take a good team to pens:

Hart
Clyne Smalling Cahill Rose
Dier
Milner Henderson
Alli
Kane Vardy

Jesus Plop fans are worse than Roy for trying to shoe-horn one of their pet players in.

It's a waste of time playing Vardy anywhere except through the middle, so we should drop him for Sterling but then Townsend is also a better winger (and probably set piece taker) than Kane, so yeah in Roy's favoured system we need 2 wide players and only have one in the squad. GG Euros.
