Even so, in that time, look at the list of t8 teams and how much that has changed, still pretty static compared to the NFL. They basically designed a league around one team not being able to completely dominate.

Pool might have Henderson, Origi and Ings starting tomorrow but yea no one who's going to play Wednesday other than Mignolet.

I realized referral $ wouldn't out weigh the potential $ I was lighting on fire giving away information to people who I'd be competing against. I also didn't have the ability to built an infrastructure that would easily allow for distributing the information or tracking who actually signed up through me.

I think i signed probably 30-40 people up through my referral and have made a whopping $10 in 2 seasons between mg and dk (made $0 from mg despite generating tons of rake just by myself). **** that ****.

Edit: yes those offers were early on when I was playing smaller stakes and that extra referral money would have been a nice addition in income. Ultimately was talked out of it by a high stakes reg who paid me for my research and to stop posting anything publically, and a high stake poker friend who said he made the same mistake with coaching. Made ~ 3k 2014. 2015 made about 100k. This year up maybe 15k (horrid downswing in feb/March when I moved up and the big whale ran like Jesus, also edges drop a ton in that time since everyone learns the new players by then).

so you made promises to other posters then realised it was -$EV to keep them, classy work.

I'd be snap banning this pos if I were a mod.

I mean I still offered a ton of free content (which was lightyears ahead of anything else being published at the time), and paid for the site out of my own pocket to offer it, all of which cost more $ than any referral money I brought in. When you put hundreds of hours of work into something and see no return while other people are piggybacking and profiting off it, deciding to change course is perfectly fine. Especially considering I had no real way to know who actually signed up through my referrals (aside from LFC and das boot) and never took any sort of subscription money.

And if you want to argue semantics, I said I was going to TRY to offer incentives I never made any set in stone promises and as soon as I realized I wasn't going to go that route I was open and honest about it and apologized to anyone who had signed up through me.

It's not like I did something really ****ty took escrow money for stuff then faked my death or anything, cause I mean who would do something crazy like that.

To LFC, since I 100% know you signed up with my referral link, would be happy to pay your entry to the 20$ regs league for fpl next year if you truly feel like I deceived you and took advantage of you that badly.

Spoiler:
Here's a quote from LFC in the thread in which my content helped him make money:

Thanks for the Mahrez tip DuckSauce

Finished 3rd in my 590-teamer with 134.50 points. Top 2 tied with 142.50. If Baines makes that PK I win the whole thing. I had an awful feeling about it from the beginning. I was watching live before heading out for my own game and just knew he would miss it.

Still banked $150 from it though despite a meh from Mata as well.

Wingers have to be played like you said. Crosses and whoever takes corners are so rewarded its incredible. Same goes for defenders as well. Rafael, Baines, Kolarov all seem like must starts if they play, and I'm there are equivalents on the Hull's and Burnley's of the world I'm not as familiar with. Then bink your cheap midfielder and the most likely goal scorers for forward each week and roll with it.

I also feel like I agree with you just putting your lineup together once team sheets are announced. This was a last minute thing I threw together for something different and "gut feelings" as well as your sleeper pick and it worked out well.

Thanks again for the tips man, much appreciated

Should have been banned after he spammed the thread only to say 'sorry folks no free coaching' and then banned again every time he even whispered dfs itt.

I have a question I need answered as google and my brain are no help.

What do the terms WIL and WIM stand for?

05-14-2016 , 08:51 PM
tbh i think ppl overreacting a little bit. promising advice if you sign up via this link and not following through is not in the same league as welching on a bet. imo ymmv.

i was just a bit annoyed that you often draw on p0sters for what is obv DFS-only ****:

while proudly proclaiming that divulging any info from your end would cost you EV so forget it lads

i personally dont GAF about DFS and i dunno maybe you do share some info at times, but if not then it seems contrary to the community experience charter to take and give 0 back. and if your response is that the info you get here is essentially valueless and easily available elsewhere then go get it elsewhere

WIM is William Iain Mckinley, 25th president of the united states. known for completing the annexation of hawaii where previous presidents had failed due to native unrest/lack of proximity to the mainland. if you refuse to give up despite various obstacles in your way en route to success you have 'WIM'

WIL is Woodrow WILson, 28th president of the united states. famously unable to prevent Pancho Villa (see Pancho Villa incident) causing havoc south of the mexican boarder despite overwhelming superiority of forces. if you have large advantages but fail to make them count you have WIL(son)

While I expect zee to turn up gracious in defeat any day now, should he fail to do so maybe dsauce can give back to those who feel cheated by his contributions to the community.

No real disagreements, but by virtue of me asking such questions it is providing value to others who may be playing dfs since the answers are public as well.

I try to toe the line of providing value but not giving away the lesser known things, and if I had to put number on what the information I gave away early on cost me it was easily be a 5 figure number. I started that thread with the best of intentions and wanted to be able to provide value to those who did sign up through my referrals (The content I put up for free was very valuable fwiw). It's just unfortunate I wasn't able to deliver what I originally was looking to do (I don't believe I ever guaranteed anything, just mostly posted ideas of what I wanted to do). When I realized it didn't make sense I made sure I was up front that I wouldn't be able to deliver on the things I had suggested I might try to do. It sucks and I felt ****ty because I let people down, but I thought I handled it as best I could. I would have 0 problem with giving people back any money I made off them from the affiliate program, but I literally only made ten ****ing dollars (the other issue is I have no way of verifying who did or didn't sign up through the affiliate links, just refer-a-friend which was lfc, das boot, and possibly one other person).

I definitely come across at a jackass a reasonably high percentage of the time. Understand that it comes from what is essentially a chip on my shoulder having put in a metric **** ton of work into something I care deeply about only to have people be dismissive of any analysis and concepts that run contrary to popular belief (to be fair it isn't all negative stuff, and some of the negative criticism itself is justified as well as constructive).
