Nevermind Rojo being hot garbage for the last few games, he played in a world cup final 2 years ago, let's pick him. Sad thing is, I'm not sure LvG's thought process is actually any better.

Picked up a new bit of football knowledge today.
In the Soviet league in 1985 and 1986, they introduced a new rule that you only get points from your first 10 drawn league games. Draw another and you get no points for it.
It would make some impact on the current Prem table, with Spurs losing 3 points and West Ham losing 4.

I think it was a great idea and must've led to some exciting game endings in the last quarter of the season.

That's really cool.

I think it's slightly less relevant now as managers slowly become aware that 3 points >>>> 1 point and take more risks towards the end of games.

True, and this was back in the 2 points for a win days.

West ham one time

Hearing from a reliable source that Everton are in advanced negotiations with Ronald Koeman to replace Martinez in the summer.

I'm guessing that would be great business, but how much do they need to pay Soton for him? or does his contract expire?

West ham has had pretty meh defensive numbers and has been riding adrian's well above average gk performances. So wouldn't surprise me if they struggle again with randolph in goal.

LOLGKS.

Edit: if martial doesn't start then that hurts mun alot as he's like their only competent attacker.

Rashford tho...but he will be benched for rooney I think

If we go with Antonio at right back we will get bummed.

Thought you were touting him for England a couple of months back?

He could easily be a wildcard wide player, useful from the bench, but he is never a right back. The Mancs targeted him last time, so have numerous other sides and without knowing the stats I'd imagine we go for more goals a game with him at right back than AN Other.

His contract expires at the end of next season so the payout wouldn't be too big.

Obviously really hope this isn't the case. Would be really surprised if Everton was the location for him. No offence to the Everton fans here, but we're starting to become a decent sized club and if anything they're going the opposite way.

Fwiw, it's been in the news a number of times this year that we're opening negotiations for a new contract with him. It wouldn't surprise me if this
was just an agent tactic for a better deal.

Everton have oil money now though.
05-10-2016 , 12:05 PM
hmm forgot about that. I guess disregard above post.

looks like soton have cracked the vision i had for wigan: bring in a steady stream of £ by selling the flavour of the month every couple of years. we made a good start with future barcelona manager bob but have since stalled

United win and Van Gaal stays seems like the optimal outcome. Both Manchester clubs playing thursday night football next january.

It is very Everton that they got it just after oil prices crashed.

Nope

Man United XI vs. West Ham: De Gea; Valencia, Smalling, Blind; Rojo, Herrera, Schneiderlin; Rooney, Mata, Martial; Rashford.
