Re: English Football 2015/16
Serious question: Do Everton have any tbtvditw money to spend? And if they do, are they going to spend it? Also, what happened to those McCarthy rumours? Does he still want out?

Re: English Football 2015/16
we bought Deulofeu so no further spending is necessary

Re: English Football 2015/16
yeah, don't get me wrong. I and most Everton fans I know believe Bill is a great chairman who loves the club and looks after the finances carefully, he's kind of like a working class grandad who teaches the kids the value of money and puts plenty aside for their college fund whilst still finding room for the occasional treat.

the standard response would be "yes, with escrow", but depending on how much you're looking to bet I may let it slide since I'm intrigued by your 2012 join date and 3 posts!

Re: English Football 2015/16
Off to Upton Park later for our game against Lusitans. We have completely sold out our 35,000 seater stadium for a first qualifying round Europa League game vs an Andorran club on a midweek.
Definitely not going to fill the Olympic Stadium....*yawn*

How many league matches did you sell out last season?
How many seasons have you been in Europe the past two decades?

I live here so pretty good on the other stuff but not much on hotels. Anywhere round Vondelpark should be a good shout (a lot will be flashy though). I'm sure you wouldn't but obv don't stay in the red light district.
If you've not done a canal boat tour before then def do that, there's some nice ones that do dinner onboard or the other end of the spectrum is with a mate of mine who will take you round and do a bit of history/stand up (his night job), you bring the beers and anything you might want to smoke. Give me a shout if that sounds like your thing!

Re: English Football 2015/16
Not hotel but one of the best things about Amsterdam is the incredible Indonesian food (yay colonialism!). I would very highly recommend this place, it's mid range/expensive, but very worthy it and a cool dining experience.

It's also across the street from a reasonably nice bar/cafe (Cafe Luxembourg) which has decent beer and outdoor terrace.

JJ, are you seriously trying to suggest that there is more to Amsterdam than weed and Roger Moores?

Re: English Football 2015/16
fantasy eggball announcement
i'm running two auction leagues this year, one $20 entry and one $50. most people have decided to reup from last year but there is at least one spot available in the $50 and more spots may open up in due course. PM me if you want in.
if there is enough interest from NFL newbs i'll be happy to set up a kiddie pool $20 draft league. Participation would be perfect if you dont know anything about the NFL and wish to dip your toe into fantasy eggball. PM me if you are interested in this.
it makes me sad to think that there are quite a few roundball posters that havent given the NFL a chance, and therefore waste their sunday evenings doing things like spending time with their wife and kids.
priority will be first come first served with the following addenda:
1) hoopie1 has expressed great interest in fantasy eggball in the past so he has ultimate priority
2) regs will be given priority over lurkers
the drafts will take place on the last sunday of august at 6pm (straight after the late PL game finishes).
