Also, those critical of Oxford today should remember that he is a child and is playing out of position. There are reasons why Wenger wanted to sign him.

actually, my last post is at least a bit off, because afaik xG isn't accounting for how close shots are, just that a given number of chances in whatever position tends to produce a corresponding number of goals, and actual goals compared to expected goals is variance. there is still a question of why you wouldn't dismiss the difference as "**** finishing" rather than variance when actual goals < expected goals, as you attribute it to "**** goalkeeping" when actual goals > expected goals
