Bookies don't know that Spurs are lining up reserves. Neither do you.
My guess is that it will be a mix of regulars and reserves but the odds of 5/1 right now (or is it 5.0?) aren't the odds calculated with the assumption that Spurs are playing reserves that's just what you made up in your head.
Wat?
So you and I both think Spurs will field a weakened team, but somehow the bookies are oblivious to this and are therefore their odds do not represent the assumption that Spurs will field a weakened team?
you're both arguing the same point I think, the current odds are based on all available info which assumes spuds will not play a full strength team but nobody knows exactly what the lineups will be yet. If the team that lines up is all kids/reserves, then the odds drift out more; likewise if Toby, Kane, Alli etc are all in the starting XI then the odds go down. A full strength spuds team is lower than 5/1 to win in Dortmund and I don't think either of you is disagreeing with that point?
No i don't disagree, it's just that ElRazor thinks 5.0 are the odds that reflect the price of Spurs lining up a "reserves team" i.e. There's a chance that they play their best player, a mix of their best players and reserves or reserves only. But nobody knows for sure what team it's going to be and the price reflects for the uncertainty of the lineup so in no way it means that Spurs Reserves vs Dortmund = 5.0 so Spurs full team must be 3.50 vs Dortmund which was ElRazor's thought process. I am also of the opinion that Spurs at full strength being 3.50 away to Dortmund is lol.
For the record, the squad has been announced and some A team players were left out (Alli, Dier, Rose) and now the odds drifted to 6.0
Care to explain why it did if 5.0 was already accounting for the assumption that it'd be a reserves team?

The fact you don't appear to know the difference between 5-1 and 5.0 renders further discussion pointless.
However, Spurs are still generally available at 5-1, so the market is meh towards Dier, Alli and Rose being left out (i.e. the market already suspected Spurs would not be full strength)
Most traders I know with rating systems have Dortmund as the 4th best side in the world so their price looks about right (Spurs are out to 7.0). Full strength Spurs probably go off around 5.5-6.0.
