Come on. Loads of players have been booked for driving.

Not ever foul is a yellow card either.

Re: English Football 2015-16

It's incredible how close things are. None of these races except for relegation (which 2 of 3 will join Villa) are even close to finished. I still can't comprehend why people are seemingly writing off city, who are just a stones throw from 2nd. The only team that falling out of the top 4 would completely surprise me for is Leicester, who are probably too far ahead to get to 5th. We can still miss it. Arsenal can still miss it. United can still make it. Hell, West Ham could still make it, though they are in godmode just to get near.

The variance has worked out such that it is all very intriguing. United and Hammers have run the best imo, and if they hadn't the T4 would be sewn up by now.

Yeah I didn't realise how rough it was too. Even easy games away at Villa and home against Bournemouth are both 3 days after Dortmund. If they manage to get through (which is obviously a big if), then the QF first leg would be between Pool away and United at home and the second leg before Stoke away.

iirc the general consensus ITT was that you should just go for it if you're semi deep in a tourney, do people still agree?

You must have missed the Hull v Sheff Weds game the other week then. One of the Watford players was also booked for diving in this evening's game and I'm sure there are countless other examples.

pen that we got - tbh not seen it since - but besic is through on goal, brought down not even a booking?!?!?!?
I haven't seen it either, but why exactly do you think it should have been a booking? If he's through on goal it sounds like it should have been a red.

People are down on City because they haven't ever shown up in a big game this season : 3 draws and 8 losses vs the top 8, this is a real reason to be worried. They used to be near unbeatable at the Ethiad but their HCA doesn't seem as effective anymore and they struggle to create as many chances as they previously did. With a lot of their core players being injured (Kompany-Silva-Aguero-KDB) + Yaya looking uninterested half the time, they haven't really had a chance to get things clicking for a long run of fixtures, with most of those players being back I guess there is a chance they go on a run but there isn't much suggesting it's going to be the case

Why, do they play under different rules in the Premier League?

Well, he was either denying a goalscoring opportunity, in which case it's a red card, or he wasn't. If he wasn't, it's isn't relevant where the foul occurs on the pitch in the decision whether it's a yellow card or not.

I thought you were spiteful and benefitted from a weak referee in the first game. That said, I'm not the **** that keeps bringing it up.

no slant intended on other leagues i just haven't watched them, hence the 20-30 games i've watched have all been prem (prob few fa cup tbf)

agree on the second point, i think i agree. but you can't deny that some times refs bottle it and give a booking rather than a red, hence my point he never saw it right give either. obv its not relevent, don't think i suggested that was important.

FWIW Anthony Taylor leaves the Boleyn Ground with a police escort more often than not, I'm glad he is upsetting someone else.

before today anyway we were top (or bottom depends which way you look at it) of the fair play league. clearly a dirty team who kicks the opposition off the park

I thought you were saying he should have been booked because he was through on goal when brought down. Need to see it on MotD.

For some reason it really annoys me when people celebrate winning a penalty, and makes me feel all warm inside when it's missed.
