Also with regards the dis advantages ala CL no one is mentioning one of the most important variables.

The big Spanish and German clubs exist in seal clubbing leagues. There is much less pressure on their squad because they can literally put out the D team and still win.

EPL teams can rotate, but when doing so suffer a much bigger drop in win EV for what ever competition they are rotating for.

That's two separate arguments. The vast majority of football fans don't give a **** about the CL as their team will never play in it. And there are many fans who are lukewarm about it from teams who do regularly play in it (i.e. City)

The Euro's and WC are obviously something the majority of fans can get behind, but don't players still nearly get a month off after the end of the season before it starts? If that time is managed well, "exhaustion" should not be a factor.

they dont put the d team in but i do think there's something in the idea

messi suarez neymar probably spend about half of their time on the pitch with a 2+ goal lead over the paella boys, plus their team averages about 70% possession, so they likely spend a lot of time coasting/conserving energy/saving themselves for bigger challenges ahead despite being on the pitch. blitw boys dont get a lot of opportunity for that.

tho we must not lose sight of the big factor ofc which is that is that messi suarez neymar are messi suarez neymar and will therefore smash whoever they are put up against

MC fans will stop being luke warm about it as soon as their team stops consistently failing in it.

From a fans POV deep runs in CL are goat.

Fair point but there are still 88 league clubs not competing in it, with 86 of them probably never likely too.

Why should those clubs have to make concessions to appease the richest few, when there is no net benefit for them?
02-21-2016 , 09:22 AM
there is benefit, strong europe performance = more overseas interest in tblitw/more asian blitw GHWs = more money for all tblitw participants = more likely you can turn real madrid down when they tip up with £120m and ask for dele alli and harry kane
02-21-2016 , 09:28 AM
True but the relative wealth wouldn't change and the improvement in the quality of football/entertainment value of the games would be very slow and hard to notice for 2nd division fat pub blokes

Otoh while mun is just one team of 88, their fans obv make up a bigger part than one 88th of England's football fans. That matters.

Yea if they cut down to 20 teams it would have to be tied to a better money sharing arrangement from BTVDLITW etc.

That said you did miss one of the benefits of less games, its not just exhaustion, but smaller statistical likely hood of tourney missing injury.

I legitimately cant remember the last time a non-spanish team won an international trophy.

you can't pick yourself as winner of a round, although you can still participate. you can pick more than one winner for a round but they split the point evenly and the grand panel of experts for the following round consists of more than one poaster.

each round lasts for as long as the grand panel of experts deems appropriate. i would suggest that the game shouldn't be active during football days.

maybe overall points leader by the end of the season gets an undertitle or something but thats up to the mod overlords

the seasoned masterpainter 2015/16 overall leaderboard

consty 1
Sugar Nut 1

notes:
-the new arbiter kicks off a new round with a paint job, that's you consty.
-the grand panel of experts has full freedom when it comes to punishments for painting out of turn. there is no appeal process.
-i dont think people should be skipped unless they want to pass their turn. if the game slows down so be it. however, this is just a suggestion. really it's up to the grand panel of experts to run their round however they wish.
Edited myself into the leaderboard.

I hereby declare round 2 open.

I'm not even going to try to improve (or even come close to) the GÖAT ÖATness of Sir Alex Flappyhands, so here we go. One of the greatest injustices ever in football. Should be easy enough.

Oh, by the way. As the current Grand Panel of Experts, I amend the rules by the following:

Any submission not hosted on imgur.com is immediately disqualified from competing to win this round. No matter how good the paint job is.

PAYET IS SEX

Your complete lack of any technical ability whatsoever is amazing. It's all in your head, though, mate. Really, uploading an image to imgur (and then pösting it to a forum that uses BBcode markup (which 2p2 does) couldn't have been made easier if they tried.

There are a few reasons for why imgur is the best image hosting service around. Ease of use is one of them.

Here's what you do:
  1. Go to https://imgur.com/
  2. Drag an image file from your file explorer and drop it right in the middle of the imgur page.
  3. Hit the UPLOAD button.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the upload to finish
  5. Copy the link to the image that says BBCode (message boards & forums)
  6. Paste that into your pöst on 2p2 (no other formatting needed. imgur took care of that for you.
