They promised they could deliver a better life to people who were struggling and they used immigration as a scapegoat. There are powers in force now that are supported by people who aren't racist, yet are using that very same strategy to divert blame away from themselves. It's a lot more complex than you are trying to make out with your sweeping blanket statements. The world isn't black or white.
