Mw the best part is I've bet a decent amount this season and I'm down something like $200 because the games I've really pounded have killed me. (Nothing serious but like ~100 or w/e).

Mp, I'm going to be in niagara for the wpt next week. I know you're Toronto, but anywhere good to see us lose to barca?

FFS basically Adam Johnson's last kick of the ball as a professional footballer was scoring that free kick against Liverpool.

The idiot couldn't have just chilled out with his beautiful girlfriend and their new baby until she was 16?

Some desperado club with an amoral manager will probably sign him up on his release, saying that he's served his sentence, deserves a fresh start, whattabout players who've been jailed for drink driving etc etc, all the while secretly rubbing his hands with glee at getting him on the cheap.

Wonder how long Johnson will get? Statutory rape is 6 years I think. If he behaves, he'll be pushing 32 when he gets out and considering the nature of his crime I doubt anyone in the top 2 leagues will bother with him.

The only similar case I can think of is Graham Rix - was out in 6 months and back working at Chelsea (lol). Have a feeling the law looks a lot less favourably on underage sex nowadays though, especially grooming.

I think Johnson's actions are at least as bad as Ched Evans', purely due to the premeditated nature of them.

If he ever plays again should be made to wear the number 15.

Jaysus, just reading about it all now. I take it back that he was stitched up, he knew what he was at. Madness.

Just a few years ago Jeppe Kofod (in his 30s) a prominent politician here and member of parliament had sex with a 15 year old from the youth wing at his party. It wasn't illegal but I'm still surprised it wasn't more than a minor scandal and only a very temporary setback in his political career. He withdrew from one party post as a result but shortly after and ever since has had important posts and gotten re-elected both in European and Danish Parliaments.

The old "divide by two and add seven" seems like a decent proxy for what should be allowed. Much better than a fixed age.

_ _ _

On another note couldn't help watching this for some reason. Might be because I miss playing myself.

yup

Of course if two adults are consenting you can't tell them they're not allowed to ****. But the age/2+7 formula is a very reasonable guideline
02-13-2016 , 05:46 AM
That formula is good for relationships, and even then it's of limited use as all it's basically saying is that you're pretty unlikely to find someone younger than age/2+7 whom you would WANT a steady relationship with in the first place.

For casual hookups anything goes, legal age and consent presumed.

He will be in the championship next year for someone like QPR (I'm assuming he won't be jailed cos money and lol UK lenient laws)

Good news for anyone thinking of backing Everton: I've had to give up my seat today.

Good article about the non dominating ****wittery at Chelsea.

Makes a good observation which I think does a better job of any other explanation I have heard of explaining the current woat title defence.

Basically starting with Villas Boas, Chelsea embarked on a project to de TSO the squad and aim for more creative style less midfield power bus park.

Just as they finish this project of de TSOing, squad emphasis on players like Mata/Hazard/KDB, they rehire TSO.

So deTSO just in time for the re-up.

TSO then wins title but in doing so completely crushes/dis illusions the players few if any of which are suited to his style of play or philosophy.

Captained Barkley today so I expect him to be benched

Marca apparently reporting that Ozil has turned down a new contract at Arsenal and has told them he wants to leave.

Howard Webb has just said that:

If the exact same tackle is made in both the 1st minute and the 50th minute he would book the 50th minute tackle rather than the 1st minute because he hasn't assessed the temperature of the game.

Right or wrong?

Mannone, Yedlin, O’Shea, Kone, van Aanholt, Kirchhoff, Cattermole, M’Vila, Khazri, N’Doye, Defoe

De Gea, Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Borthwick-Jackson, Schneiderlin, Carrick, Lingard, Mata, Martial, Rooney

WTF is "Temperature of the Game"?

It's a bookable offence or it's not. I hate this rationale.
02-13-2016 , 08:02 AM
Right . Temperature of the game means used to judge malice / intent of the offence
