Re: English Football 2015/16

What's the deal with the 2p2 FPL? I have a team that dominated my own league last year, need to step up in class

For Palace though, Pardew notwithstanding and Jedinak being there, playing somewhat similar to what he did at Newcastle should be just great I think.
I don't think he's bad per se, just that he was massively overhyped at Newcastle despite putting in quite a few average performances and seemingly running really well on Hollywood balls/long shots etc. He obviously is technically gifted and surprisingly combative for a fromage eating surrender monkey. I agree Jedinak and him have the potential to form a very solid partnership, although it might not be the best in the blitw !

---

I'm very satisfied with Liverpool's transfer dealings, I'm personally very high on all three of our biggest signings - Milner, Firminho, Benteke - plus Gomez and Ings will prove to be very strong additions - i really think Ings especially may play his way into a regularish starting spot, although Benteke will be hard to replace as it's unlikely he's going to be anything but an absolute beast for us.

Whilst, as the most reasonable Liverpool fan on this forum, I feel the need to admit that i don't think it's a lock we'll win the league, the room for regression from our rivals is certainly there.

Utd especially have had a terrible transfer season so far, and look likely to go into next season with lolRooney as there number 1 striker. I always thought that claims Utd are willing to spunk their wad have been overstated, the Glazers remain the Glazers, and the squad is still massively unbalanced.

Arsenal should progress from last season, they ran so bad with injuries that just running a little below ev this season is probably worth a multiple point swing. Only glimmer of hope imo is their over-reliance on Sanchez and the chance that the Mertecielney partnership has a longer, sustained crisis than it did last season.

City will also progress, unfortunately. Sterling is a great signing and they did rrun pretty poorly last season - ACON didn't help either and the fact that it won't be on this season is a massive boon.

Last point RE Pool is just how much room there is to progress - not hard considering how big a turd last season was. No Gerrard and Johnson is MASSIVE (look at our results with and without Gerrard last season if you want proof) and the vorp eminating from the Johnson/Clyne swap will keep Keith Woolner's cock stiff well into 2016. Also, we're unlikely to ever start a game with Balotelli(!!) and Lambert(!!!) up front together next season which is essentially a freeroll for 3 more points than we finished with in 14/15.

Holy ****, we're actually going to win the league!

Yeah, Johnstone is the only option that makes sense. Unfortunately this is LvG we're talking about, so sense is out the window. Biggest newspaper in Argentina claims Romero starts tmrw, but they're probably just homering it up.

To be fair to Van Gaal, Blind's dad was fantastic centreback. I can understand where he gets the idea from.

Sturridge is ahead of schedule as well Bertie, looks like he'll return to full training in a week or two.

We'll have a similar season to last year. Start bad, pick it up in the middle, and finish bad. Will flirt with challenging for top 4, it will always be "if we can win and xxx lose, we'll be 3 points off 4".

We'll end up somewhere between 5th-8th.

I hope Rodgers can pull another good season out of his hat similar to 2 years ago but I'm pretty pessimistic. Won't be surprised if he's sacked around Christmas.

We've upgraded some positions. Benteke is better then what we had last year, Clyne is an upgrade, Milner is an upgrade. However, Jordan Henderson is not good enough to be playing for a top 4 side, Lovren is ****ing awful and Skrtel is probably past his best and needs to be replaced. Until we upgrade those players we won't challenge for anything, let alone top 4.

I'm not sure the fact that Utd go in with Rooney as their number 1 is cause for celebration. Agueros the only better striker in this league.

pool will score a load, think i would back them to be top 4 in scoring. success depends on whether the back 4 + gk decides to be shambolic again

I'll say it simply. Floor value is the same for us. Ceiling value jumped high. While other top 4 staples plummeted in floor value.
So... we can totally top 4.

I was really surprised that it has been seven years since the same four teams made top 4 in back to back seasons.

How nuts is this league going to be next year if England lose a CL spot. Almost rooting for this to happen

Rooney will score, for sure. But I'd bet against 20 and the supporting cast is very hard to judge. Mata, Depay and Herrera really need to have great years. They really need another goal scorer IMO.

It would be nuts, but who wants t watch a team like Lazio in the CL? its fun to root against the other English teams, but at least they make good storylines when they succeed or fail. A mediocre Italian team? Bleh.

I find your position on Hendo baffling, he has consistently been one of our best players. Agree wrt to Lovren and possibly Skrtel, Rodgers' apparent desire to start Lovren over Sakho @ at Stoke is fps at best and evidence of a surplus of chromosomes in Brentan's cells at worst.

you're welcome to join the $20 FPL (PM me for code/payment)
mic_check12 is running a £10 Last Man Standing, PM him for that
if you're up for a $50+ comp that requires attention all season, there's still time for 1X2

But it would make next season wild. Could really care less when City get humped by Barca or Chelsea lose to a 10 man french team but a whole season of knowing one of the big 4 would miss out would be the tits

United and Spurs point totals being hammered on the under. United down to 74.5 (think they started at 77.5) and Spurs down to 59.5 (think they started at 64.5).
