I don't like the man but he's arguably one of the greatest English CB's of all time. Quite clearly the best Chelsea have had in the PL era.

Carvalho and Desailly where good as well though, it's at least up for debate.

I'm not disputing that he isn't one of the all time great English CBs but I'd have Rio and Adams over him. Sol was class as well back in the day.
