I see he made one appearance for Blackpool in 2014, that probably doesn't really count either.

Italian and Spanish are very similar, if you're fluent in one then you're 60% towards learning the other. I can't speak for French, but Italian is apparently a slightly harder language to learn than Spanish so you're probably best off starting off there. Utility wise it's obviously subjective, but in a vacuum I'd say Spanish is the most and Italian the least useful.

Apps and stuff (duolingo, memrise) are good, but there really is no substitute for just grinding out verb conjugations and reading grammar rules.

I'm going to have to brush up on my maths, The Teenager is up to quadratic equations now so I can't just look over her shoulder and patronisingly walk her through her homework any more, and after all my years of telling her I'm a maths genius I kind of have to back it up when she gets up to GCSE revision in like a year's time

Khan academy is a site I recall hearing good things about, and I see there's an app for it. Any better recommendations? I'm not looking for degree-level physics, I just want to remind myself of the basic formulae for the elementary level trigonometry, calculus etc and hopefully it will all come flooding back...

Khan Academy is the nuts, at least on a PC - not sure how easy it's to use on a phone/tablet.

Khan Academy is good, but I'd think it's just easier to read the textbook.
01-28-2016 , 11:28 PM
Khan academy is reallly solid.

LO - ask her to explain it to you. She'll know it better as a result.

Khan academy is good but these two sites for the Maths GCSE I think are better.
