Don't worry, we are quite good at that. 2 FA cups in a row tho...

I also think we are the most resilient of the current top 4. We haven't been more than 1 goal down all season - every game we have competed in and could have got something out of. We have won more points from losing positions than anyone else. We have the best defence. After we lost to Man Utd, we went 14 unbeaten, and after the Newcastle and Leicester defeats, we won the next 3 handily. We won't win it, but we might nick 3rd.

No update on Vertonghen.
I see no reason why you couldn't make it to 3rd. Leicester's crazy run is bound to end at this point and Spurs are solid all around, probably the best in years where you lot doesn't just rely on 1-2 players running like god and clinching games with 30yard screamers

Who is the other Cb in line though? Vert-Toby worked so well, I don't know how big of an impact would a long- semi-long Vert injury have on the defensive numbers.

Still feel it's a city title all day. Bar the first 5 games they've underperformed all season and still sit ahead of everyone who matters.

If it's close in the title run in id have my money on them coming up clutch over the others.

People have been saying this for weeks (months?) and it's still going.

If you throw in the 2nd half of last season as well that's got to be close to 40 matches where Leicester have gained the most points in the league.

Wimmer would be the direct left-footed replacement. Defensively I would be surprised if he is significantly weaker than Vertonghen, but offensively he lacks Vertonghen's ability (pretty much true of all CB's ITW tho). I think Spurs can absorb a couple of injuries without it affecting performances too much, bar Kane of course.

Would also be interesting to see if Cameron Carter-Vickers (GOAT prospect) comes into the reckoning if Vertonghen is out for any length of time.

The next month will be pretty telling from their point of view

Plop
ManCity (A)
Arsenal (A)
Norwich

Meanwhile City has the easiest month on paper, Spuds are right there as well. Ours look a bit tougher with going to ManU at the end of the month and playing Soton and Leicester

WRT Leicester, I wonder how long the honeymoon period will last with other fans. Whichever way you look at it, they are a long-ball team and certainly don't play "good football".

There are already a few identikit teams employing similar tactics to better effect that teams trying to "play". Will history just view them as another Bolton or Wimbledon?

That said, would love them to win the league.

Do people still like Atletico Madrid?

Super addicted to a game called 'score hero' for android.

Decided to play it instead of going back to work this afternoon

they do play good football imo, they arent a bag of dirty pulisian thugs who are just hoping they dont get sent off long enough to injure the oppo's key players

sure leicester do the necessary turtling when they face teams with 5x the wage bill, but they blasted stoak off the park a cpl days ago

those wimbledon and bolton (jay jay ococha excepted) teams were pulisian to the core and that's why they are remembered as such

Mahrez confirmed long ball dolt. Wimbledon era a bit before my viewing experience but Leicester are doing something pretty special here, Bolton getting into the UEFA Cup once was great but nothing like this

+1 w baids

vardy has no where near the technique and the shooting of tevez but pace, finishing, general super annoying pestiness and willingness to run in behind makes him basically like a 200k/week player now. mahrez creates fouls, shots and space and is basically a much better player than juan mata. those 2 and the midfield does miracles pressing and creating turnovers cos leicester doesn't even have a particularly high line to compress the space

further death knell for forwards that dont contribute defensively ala rooney/penaldo. suarez u know, neymar is actually super sick at intercepting balls and young messi was a phenomal tackler on the wannabe beckenbauer's in la liga coming from the side (but he gets to coast now).

Elrazor's not had his finest morning.

There are very few if any top teams that have a really dominant MF, they have dominant AM, but not dominance in the actual middle of the park.

I am pretty sure that if Chelsea could keep there current shambolic defence but play 433 with the MF of Lampard Essien and Ballack and the lol AM of Kalouda and Costa as striker they would strangle their way to EPL champions negating any of the ability of the newly powerful lesser teams to play meaningfull football.

At the moment there is no real need to play long ball as you dont need to bypass the CM area so much.

interesting how Man City have taken over the Utd mantle of not being perceived to be very (or especially) good but still being the default favourites for the title. was going to say winning the title on a regular basis but twice probably doesn't merit that - thrice maybe.
