im sure it'll be easier for arsenal next season when pep arrives with a titanic load of money in tow

Without trying to sound like a football snob it's so frustrating listening to fans like Claude talk about football.

Good to laugh at when he's ****ed off though.

what would be more fun for neutrals, leiceister winning title after basically being a lock to get relegated just the season before or spurs finally finishing above arse for the first time in a zillion years just to deny arse the first league title in a million years?

Good old Claude, who said everton fans were the worst in league earlier because our lot are as bad.

First there was the Ronaldinho no look pass, now we have the Mert no look tackle. Really bizarre moment to look over at the linesman.

Much as I want to LOL Arse, in no way must that LOL be due to Spurs winning the League.

Leicester AINEC. Spuds winning the league would be awful for this threads community experience, even more so than arse winning it.

The thing that gets me is, he looks up/across and see no one is cover just before making the tackle.

Chelsea started well but even then he could have then him go through and Cech could have saved it.

That isn't even a real question. A team that is picked to finish within 2 spots jumping a rival or a team that is somewhat surprisingly in the league in the first place taking on all comers and winning a title. It would be something that nobody would ever forget. In 40 years when we're watching games they'll be saying how Leicester won that time in 2016.

I think that is patently false. The sense of righteousness for Arsenal would last for years. At least if we won we wouldn't be expecting to have an invincible season and ship it again. And for a neutral of the thread you should always favor a team with fewer posters if your team doesn't ship it. That is why I typically hope city wins now. We have basically zero city posters of note since D**t**b**ce. I mean, if Arsenal won I bet we'd end up with O$ki up in here again.

Leicester winning it would be so amazing. Really hope they bink it.

MW just about nailed it. So few positions we can actually improve without spending big money (which we won't). Agree the one position we could improve other than striker would be DM. Dier is obviously a stud, but we need another option there in case either he gets injured, or Toby gets injured and he has to drop to CB.

Still think Pritchard will offer a decent option AMR, and we have Onomah as well so not sure we need to buy anyone, however I wouldn't mind taking Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea. Spurs really need to take advantage of the opportunities they hand young players and hoover up any decent young English talent.

Also, "Brah" is offensive. Please use the gender neutral "Sibling" in the future. Thanks.

Mertesacker just can't attempt that tackle, even if Mignolet was our goalkeeper. Would have been nice if Flamini wasn't back pedaling from Willian for a good four seconds.

Don't know what's more frustrating...not beating Moyes or this.
01-25-2016 , 02:49 AM
Oh this is infinitely more frustrating. As I've said itt a ton I hoped we would just stay within a game of city by the time everyone came back. City have been as poor as we have (they haven't won back to back in 3 months or beaten a top 7 team all year!) so it's been a great few weeks for spurs and Leicester

Best thing for neutrals is that the penultimate game of city/arsenal has huge title implications. Something like whoever won would be in first but a draw puts Leicester in the driving seat.
01-25-2016 , 03:47 AM
I think Leicester will slow down considerably for the last few games and it will be decided between us and City. ManCity-Arse will be a huge game and one of us will be taken to Heartbreak City... My hope lies in City going further in the CL and just having to deal with too many games in which they have to play their 1st choice 11 without much rotation.

Also spuds should really just lock up top4 and maybe get a cheeky title bid in, but spuds being spuds I can see them ****ing it up somehow even with Kane and HotChocolate being on fire. Any news on Verthongen's injury?

I don't see Spurs deviating significantly from their current run of form, other than as a result of injury - we have too many players, playing too well. Kane isn't on the heater he was last season, so loss of form wouldn't impact us too badly. Plus, players like Son and Chadli are coming into the team and off the bench and changing games.

I also think we are the most resilient of the current top 4. We haven't been more than 1 goal down all season - every game we have competed in and could have got something out of. We have won more points from losing positions than anyone else. We have the best defence. After we lost to Man Utd, we went 14 unbeaten, and after the Newcastle and Leicester defeats, we won the next 3 handily. We won't win it, but we might nick 3rd.

No update on Vertonghen.

I was really unimpressed by City on Saturday. I know we have God's own footballer pulling the strings for us but we leave ourselves very open a lot of the time. Sadly, I think it is Arsenal's to lose this year.
