this ref tho...

they paid a lot for payet. he was an established player. one of the best creators in ligue 1. mahrez is totally different and probably more reliant on development after they got him too.

Btw I wouldn't mind if Payet, Mahrez stayed at their clubs. The league is much more interesting with this distribution of fun players. Also nice for neutral spectators...TBLITW if you will!

Payet's age is an issue, prob doesnt have too many more super seasons left, but has been really awesome.

Mahrez would be a fantastic pickup for anyone at his age. He would of been a very arsenesque signing.

where does a non top-2,3,4,5,6, whatever best XI finish in the league? would be an interesting question. in other words the best players of the likes of Leicester, WH etc. admittedly Leicester are in with a shout of winning it themselves.

And ya agree, league is way more fun with talent spread out. Aside from MUN being complete **** and boring the league has been insanely fun to watch.

With smaller teams having such good players they've actually gone out and attacked top teams instead of playing not to lose. Makes for much better viewing.
