Yeah. It's like as his own biggest fan (by far) he's just trying to make an homage to his previous works. With a few classic film references (or lenses) to add to the "if you don't like it then that's because you don't get it" snobism while basically making the same fragmented dialogue dialogue dialogue violence violence Tarantino **** over and over again starring Samuel L. ****ing Jackson. Increasing the runtime each film so he can fap to his own work longer.

I still enjoyed it though.

Been a big Spurs fan the last several years ever since NBC Sports started showing all the game here in America. Hoping to attend a game at White Hart Lane in the Spring, when we are planning a trip to London.

Since being a BPL fan in the U.S. is akin to being an NFL fan in the UK, a few basic aspects of English soccer have alluded me, since I am relatively new to the game.

I follow intently the 38 game Premier League season, but what exactly are the FA Cup and Capital One Cup?

I notice they are open to non premier league clubs. Are they open to all divisions of English soccer or only the top 2 or 3 leagues?

Are these matches followed as intently in England as the Premier League/Champions/Europa League are?

Thanks for any insight on this..and looking forward to the game this week vs Palace..

league (capital one, carling, rumbelows, milk etc) cup is as it sounds - open to teams in the league, i.e. the top 4 divisions. fa cup is open down to, ooh, the tenth tier?

nobody cares about the league cup (or the uefa cup for that matter). fa cup is still somewhat important despite the majority of the premier league downplaying it to secure best tv deal money, and is certainly a big deal to (most) lower league teams. for example, our pay day against united means we don't need to sell our right back if we don't get promoted.

The FA Cup was first held in 1871–72. Entry is open to all teams who compete in the Premier League, the Football League and in Steps 1 to 5 of the FA National League System, as well as selected teams in Step 6.[2] This means that clubs of all standards compete, from the largest clubs in England and Wales down to amateur village teams.

League cup is actually getting better and isn't as viewed as badly as it was a few years back IMO

The EL is a complete and utter waste of time though.

Haven't seen hateful 8 but +1 on Goggins GOAT. Justified is amazing as well. He completely owns every scene he's in in that show.

Thank you! That answered most of my questions. had no idea the FA Cup had so many teams in it.

If I wasn't a Spurs fan, I probably would agree.

As a Spurs fan you should agree as it effects your performances in the league.

An Everton fan that was visiting us from the UK remarked that most Premier League games are not televised there? Is that true?

NBC Sports Network here has basically turned many former soccer-loathing Americans into fans the past several years.

EVERY game is telecast either on NBC Sports, the "big" network NBC, or other cable networks. Every single Premier League game is shown LIVE as long as one has Digital Cable television.

There are also several replay-type shows on NBC Sports during the week, such as Premier League Download, Manchester Mondays (the replays of City's and United's
previous weeks matches) and the Men in Blazers show which is must see TV.

He was shocked at the high level of coverage the Premier League get here.

That being said, the FA Cup, League Cup, Champions, and Europa League still get very little coverage..

That's correct.

Saturday 3PM kick off cannot be shown on TV here - the vast majority of games.

Games that over lap each other, like 4pm Sunday, only the original scheduled game will be shown on TV here the game moved from the lol EL game won't be.

For the record I think it's an English thing when they say the EL is a waste of time. Im sure if you ask a Sevilla, Atletico Madrid or Porto fan for example they will rave about the competition. Personally I have no problem with it and quite enjoy watching games on a Thursday night but Im likely in the minority.

And now it has the incentive of providing a CL place

EL group stage sucks but the knockout rounds are good.

true for the shield as well

He just grows and grows and grows in The Shield. He basically takes over the show from Season 5 onwards after he does you know what.

Also reports in France that United officials met with Pep in a Hotel last week in Paris. Well that's that then, he's the next United manager!
01-21-2016 , 06:34 PM
would be funny to see Pep fail hard at Utd but he could probably recruit enough players that it won't happen
01-21-2016 , 06:51 PM
People don't like the EL because it takes forever and it's crushing in a league that doesn't have a winter break. Sure, everyone loves when it gets down to the teams like Sevilla vs Porto kind of matchups, people just hate it when they have to google which part of Kazakhstan the team they're playing in August is from.

It is an "English thing" due to the wealth distribution of funds for smaller clubs in the other major European leagues.

Big +1. Especially easier to have this opinion if you're supporting a huge club that isn't concerned by the EL but there are football fans beside the huge money clubs that make it to the CL practically every year
01-21-2016 , 08:02 PM
yeah I loved it the other year when Everton went deep in EL, but it's def a net negative for a team with legit top 4 aspirations
