pulisgoat people, go have a look at what stoke's xi was when pulis got the heave ho in the summer of 2013 (£90m net spend over the previous 5 years), then take a look at it now under sparky (£5m net spend over two years including shaqiri fee)

Thanks

Bye Bye Burnley

guys, how do I change my default currency on the Stars sports betting site? Do I have to do so through the poker client? I want to bet in £ but it's my $ balance that's displayed and I can't see a way to switch. Obv there's more value in taking £100 of free bets than $100.
08-11-2015 , 04:39 PM
If I remember correctly it's in the menu button once you open the cashier.
08-11-2015 , 04:43 PM
Had Cardiff/Charlton/Ipswich/Dundee United. No cashout offer from Stars. Was able to cashout my City HT/FT bet no problem last night.

Doubt I'll be betting there again.

Stars' site is really quite poor others. I'm going to use the free bets then not bother with it.

I'm having issues with them suspending everything and it doesn't open it back up. The cash out option doesn't work half the time - regardless of whether or not there is a odds change. They don't even say 'odds have changed accept X'.

Very poor user experience.

Consty is right - on the site go cashier - on pop up menu - manage - set £

great, thanks consty

The prices for football at least seem really bad on Stars compared to most decent bookmakers.
08-11-2015 , 05:10 PM
yeah the interface is poor, and the vig on the odds is terrible (1.8%orpr on the villa/manU game, which is worse than any mainstream site)

But they're giving away free money, so I'll have some tyvm

to those who said nice things about my WBA posts.

I should perhaps have made it explicit that we made aboslutely no use of those interesting players from a year ago - apart from half a season of Pocognoli before he was sent into Pulis-exile.

[Also .. Ricky Lambert - but I imagine people have a view on him already.]

that's 2 forwards

and that's not the worst thing he's done. Obviously Brunt doesn't have the pace to match up with pacey wingers and isn't that good versus non-pacey ones ... but ... he does try and is pretty consistent which makes up for quite a lot, and he's much better here than playing left midfield where he's just a black hole. We need real FBs, but we have a few and Pulis doesn't seem to believe in real FBs as a concept.

2nd consecutive game that Pulis has assumed all responsibility for a 3-0 defeat against a top-3 side, interestingly.

Unlike Mourinho he hasn't lashed out at the kit-lady's washing tekkers.

Unfortunately I haven't seen the game so don't have a substantive view. Tho I hear my boay Saido fluffed a sitter - not a good look after how much I talked him up.

I don't think Pulis will tank the season and relegate you guys but it just seems so retrograde. The mid-table of this league is going and buying players like Payet, Wijnaldum, Cabaye, Shaqiri!!, Obiang, Okazaki, Clasiet, etc.

You have teams like Leicester! playing a diamond with Mahrez at the tip of it.

Then you look at WBA and it's just 442 with 4 centerbacks, sit deep in 2 banks of 4 and hope for what I don't know?

Like I said they should be fine and grind it out but man it is not inspiring. It's also not playing to your strengths since Sessegnon can provide the throughballs that Berahino thrives on.
Yep - pretty uninspiring - we typically have set up 451 with two deep banks of 4 and 5 with no space between them and a huge space to the 1, leaving no possibility of them realistically linking up/holding up under Pulis. Life was very similar under ex-managers-#3 and -#1 as well.

McClean is F in fantasy. I guess that's where the confusion is from.

Pulis knows exactly what he's doing. Targeting home games versus 8-20 teams I expect he'll survive again. Doesn't give a **** about losing to city.

meh - he targets all games with essentially the same ideology (watch them if you doubt that) - sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't

Of course it has an effect. It's been proven. Are you trying to say they shouldn't bother trying to win EL so they can make sure they qualify for EL again? If their in it, they might as well try to win it.

Totally agree with this, doesn't make sense at all...ie West Ham they're not going down and they're not qualifying for cl so why not make a run at the Europa even if it means a couple of places lower in the league

I have never really been convinced. This article says it does, but in terms of league position then when most clubs reach places 5-8, they have reached their glass ceiling and it's obviously really difficult to finish higher compared to finishing lower.

As far as points won/lost goes:

Quote:
Sides average 1.41 points in matches immediately following a European game, compared to 1.43 in their other league games in the same season
It would be good to see that broken down into home/away. Especially early in the season, for Spurs to have an easy 3-0 win at home and give some fringe players a run out (like Harry Kane.....), I can only see the positives impact that would have on league form. Away games in Kazakhstan are obviously a different kettle of fish, but you can really just send the whole second team given how easy the home games are.

That said, it was pretty terrible for Spurs to have an away Europa league game 3 days before the League Cup final.

Also, David Sullivan antics update:

1) Amalfitano has a bust up with Bilic, forced to train with the kids. Sullivan gave him an extended contract to spite Allardyce last season.
2) Sullivan said he didn't have any input into our summer transfers. Apart from Payet. So only the one that looks to be the most likely to work out.

We're not signing Barton.
