The model presumably carries over last year's stats as initial parameters for this year. Hence Villa bottom of the league.

Chelsea (Costa injuries needed to seriously falter but it is a real opening with likely Falcao fiasco. Matic,Fabregas,Hazard,Costa +the Mou-Terry combo for good and bad will be hard to overcome for rivals)
Arsenal (things need to go right LDO - Kind of think periods with Alexis as main attacker false-nine could be the over the top move)
City (should contend - one more quality signing would be useful)
Manchester United (2nd 3rd? maybe just maybe)
Liverpool (improve pts gd or time for change)
Spurs
Southampton
Everton
Stoke
Aston Villa
West Ham
Palace
Swansea
Newcastle
West Brom
Sunderland
Bournemouth
Leicester
Norwich
Watford

Flip between Leicester/Sunderland. Rooting for Claudio 'sticks jimmy floyd hasselbaink as a wing back against a 10 man Monaco @ 1-1 in a Champions League Semi Final 1st leg trying to win it there and then and losing the game 3-1' Ranieri

Top scorer: Aguero
Player of the Year: Aguero

Not sure if the wage for Falcao was seen as a long term investment either.

Losing ddg and adm is kind of huge though.

That's been taken off the wage bill. The wage bill this year needed to increase in order to compete and make good solid signings.

We've lowered the wage bill and had an awful summer so far. Others are slowly coming round to it. This year could be another profit machine - admittedly I missed out under lolmoyes.

There is enough individual quality, at least I think we do, in order to finish t4. Just relying on lvg not being a compete fud at the start of the season and stumbling into a decent team like he did half way through last year!

When Spurs take points from us tomorrow, hopefully panic stations go and we sign a couple of players!

United transfer incompetence not going to be good for my wallet re: UTD season bets.

Chelsea's gonna win the league again because Mourinho GOAT...again.

Btw this is the season where we actually have to root for the other teams in Europe. Specially if you are an Arsenal fan.

So, united fans...where are the goals coming from this year? Seems a lot is riding on depay. Are you going to just hold the ball for the first 60 min and hope to win it late every time again?
08-07-2015 , 01:49 PM
Rooneys good for 15-20 if he can play every week (prob won't).
08-07-2015 , 01:54 PM
Nice to see so many of you are so high on Southampton after 2 strong performances, but I'm quite down on our league position, we're (hopefully) playing a lot of Thursday nights with a shallow squad. If we have a good European run I'd be very content with 10-14th with no sweats.

I'm also very high on Everton this year and would be interested in some kind of season long bet, although not against us. Maybe against Swansea if someone fancies? Open to other suggestions though.

LO, I appear to for the second year in a row have wandered into a country which doesn't allow pokerstars access. If I do manage to do a team tonight, can I have your papal address please?

Herrera is good for 5-10 if LVDonk would just start him. Unfortunately we'll start with Carrick/Schneiderlin in a 4-2-3-1 and rely on the front 4 to do everything.

Rooney should get 15-20 goals as a lone striker. Ideally I'd like to see

---------GK---------
MD---Jones-Rojo-Shaw
-----Schneiderlin
--Herrera---Schweinsteiger
Pedro------------Depay
--------Rooney

Or a 4-2-3-1 with Mata in the 10 and Depay wide left Pedro wide right.

Tomorrow I expect us to go with.

-------Romero---------
MD--Jones-Blind--Shaw
-----Carra--Schn-----
Mata----Depay---Young
--------Rooney-------

I agree with 9 of your 11 tomorrow but there is no chance Johnstone doesn't start as Romero hasn't played since Copa (and hasn't played club football since Jan).

I also suspect it's Valencia over Darmian but that's not so certain.

Too much smoke around Pedro for there not to be fire. He should be good for a few goals, same with Depay and Mata. Rooney scores goals when he gets a run as a striker too. Theoretically we should have enough firepower in our first XI. It's more our attacking depth and LVG's tactics that I'm worried about holding us back in that department.

LvG already said Darmian starts. Agree about Johnstone, he should start but I saw somewhere earlier today Romero had been confirmed the starter. Not sure what the source was though. Think it was maybe posted itt.

That was me I think, BBC and SSN suggested that Romero was likely to start but they're probably just assuming and I'd be inclined to agree with JD's theory.

Spoiler:
Walcott costs quite too much for someone who isn't guaranteed to have max playing time. Rather save your money and take a Siggy kind of player who is guaranteed to have max playing time and will rack assists/goals. Allows you to save money for better forward or defender too.

Sorry ducksauce for giving strategy away, hope i'm not ruining fantasy
