LOL at the Celtic average attendance being a larger attendance than the record attendace.

It's the entitlement that pisses me off the most I think. A growing number of fans think that paying for a ticket entitles them to see a glorious victory every week, and when they don't get what they want they then feel entitled to shout racist / homophobic abuse at whichever player or official they choose to victimise. I don't enjoy being a part of it any more, and I'm hesitant to expose my daughter to it.
Oh for the love of God don't google Adam Goodes (dumb footy fans in Australia are dumb)

I had no idea that race relations were such a thing in australia, or is this an isolated incident (bad enough)?

obv we'll always hear more about the US but man

Celtic still haven't been allowed into the EPL 1000 years from now.

How are Arsenal most likely to line up first day of the season?
08-03-2015 , 06:19 PM
same as vs Chelsea but with Giroud up top i guess.

-------------giroud
Cazorla------Özil-------Oxlade
----------Coq-----Ramsey
Monreal--Kos--Mertesacker--Bellerin

Q: How do we get Walcott, ox and Alexis on the same pitch? Only with Walcott as CF or could we drop ox to CM if Ramsey/Wilshere is injured? What to do with Cazorla when both Alexis and Oxlade is healthy and in form?
Good problems to have obviously for rotation and depth.

Same as for the Community Shield, maybe Giroud instead of Walcott (I reckon Welbeck and Sanchez still away for a week or two)

that lineup is completely off
cazorla is a CM nowadays and partners coq while ramsey often gets shifted to the wing to accommodate özil(they switch around though)
08-03-2015 , 07:10 PM
Ok. Looked to me like cazorla played mostly on the wing with ramsey through the mid vs chelsea but you are prob right.

Ramsey mostly play on the right wing tho when not in cm?

either this or
ox instead of theo
or theo instead of giroud up top
08-03-2015 , 07:25 PM
Ozil santi and Ramsey all drifted in and out of each others positions in the comments shield with only ox really being static.

Ox had a good game but I think they should play Walcott there with Giroud on top.

It will depend some on what West Ham go with at this point. If it's already the Reid-Ogbonna duo and no Walcott for Arsenal, West Ham will have two centrebacks I'm guessing faster than all the Arsenal offensive players (see edit!). Then they should feel pretty comfortable pushing up and compressing Arsenal badly forcing their skill players to seriously come up with the goods and combine their way all the way to goal, which they can of course but generally I like Walcott along with all those finesse Ars players looking get the ball at their feet instead of ahead of them towards goal and having that very pacy, facing the goal threat for the opposition defenders.

It really gives opponents something to think about having to deal two such different kind of threats like Giroud and Walcott. It makes their life much more difficult.

Of course if it's someone like Collins in the West Ham defense no Walcott might not be a problem at all.

audi cup seems super dumb for us. nothing like playing 2 games within 5 days of the start of the season. good money grab though surely. well done danny. good thing we have all of those attacking signings in early to bolster the ranks.

On Thursday you will know roughly what are XI will be on Saturday as Bilic has said nobody that plays in Romania will start against Arsenal. I am very confident we will take a sound beating, even if you fielded the kids. It appears we will have O'Brien at right back, which is an open invitation to rape for whoever it is that plays on the left for you.

given by your comment im guessing that west ham have looked very bad pre-season?

West ham fans regretting wanting Fat.Sam to be gone for so long? Was it a very high % of west ham fans who wanted him gone or just a small vocal minority?

That stat came from the European comp page, with the lowest attendance being 5000 for Miada Bolesev vs Roma, highest average being Celtic with 576k, and highest ever being Red Bull Salzburg with 523k. I assume they haven't been shafted to MLS yet to be excluded from Europe.

RE: Goodes. There is a massive problem with it, and the problem is that Australia doesn't realise we have a problem. We as a whole would probably just claim to be concerned for black players levels of potassium if we were caught throwing banana's at them. Im pretty disappointed in my country as off the last week, since when he was boo'ed, I assumed it was just a small percentage of idiots, but sadly it was a reasonably large percentage of pro-booers which made me sad, particularly with the strawman arguments to defend their position, and using media people who have done blackface in the past to justify their views.

--------------------------------------------

Finally, I am running my own $20 Survivor Pool for the Premier League this season. I have run a few based on Australian Football this year, which have been met with a lot of positive feedback.

Maximum number of entries is 3 per person (all entries operate unique of each other). The other main kicker is that your team doesn't necessarily have to win each week. Should your team draw, you pick up a yellow card on that entry, and if they draw again, 2x yellows = red and you are out of the game.

While I haven't posted much in threads the last couple years, I have a good reputation selling action in marketplace, participating in the BAIDS NFL comps etc...

The buyin is in Australian dollars, so any one who wants in the comp is

1 entry = $20 AUD = $14.79 USD
2 entries = $40 AUD = $29.58 USD
3 entries = $60 AUD = $44.37 USD

If anyone wants in, PM me with how many entries you want. Can take Stars, can't take PayPal, however, if any Muricans want to settle via someone else that is fine. Il post picks each week in a private facebook group, so if anyone wants in, just PM me here and Il give more details.

I anticipate about 40-50 entries total across my IRL friends, and whatever extra from 2+2

Thanks

It isn't so much that, but we are in an additional competition this season, and for all the mouth from our board (and there has been plenty) after the signing of Payet (who is an upgrade on the departed Downing), Ogbonna (a much needed additional central defender) and Obiang (not played yet and has essentially replaced Song), we haven't really added anyone. Valencia is out for 12 weeks and our only fit forward of any note is Sakho.

We appear to be interested in more technical footballers, which is encouraging, but we haven't done enough improving of the squad relative to our peers. We still have some dung in our squad (Maiga, the embers of Kevin Nolan, Jarvis, Zarate) that needs to be moved on.

I think that our fans were split on Allardyce. I understand why they wanted him gone but the board seem to avoid flack from all but a minority. I am concerned that Bilic doesn't have the stones or doesn't have the mandate to have the final say with the board and that they will push him around and stuff him with a bunch of Sullivan specials.

If you want some proper lols, some people have suggested that we paid Werder Bremen (€ or £?) 2 million to play a friendly against us last Saturday. I wonder where businesswoman of the year was when that deal was being inked?

We haven't won at Arsenal since the year that their stadium opened.
08-04-2015 , 05:24 AM
We've played really well against West Ham in recent years, they're good enough that it's dumb to look past them but we always seem to perform very well against them.

Sanchez and Welbeck back in training today as well.
08-04-2015 , 05:28 AM
Doubt they will feature for another 1-2 weeks tho
08-04-2015 , 05:42 AM
Can I get in on the ikts this year? Am I a reg enough reg???
08-04-2015 , 05:46 AM
I'd say obv
