MJ won 3 titles without Rodman. The Bulls were a little better then average (2nd round) when MJ retired. Heat won a title with Wade and Shaq and no LJ.

It's such a dumb debate. LeBron looks like the GOAT out there but for most of us, we were pretty young during Jordan's peak so I highly doubt there's not a lot of recency bias there. Jordan's peak, if not better, was certainly close enough to LeBron that his accomplishments for now keep him the GOAT. Obviously LeBron could retire as GOAT and might be favored to. That doesn't matter though. This thread is stupid but if it keeps this debate out of other threads than it could be an all-time great thread.

i put lebron right there on the cusp if they ring this year. but lebron needs 4 rings to be goat since he is jordan but taller and stronger. but u need min 4 rings. just they way it works. be honest, if lebron retires with just 3 rings when jordan was 6 for 6, well if lebron plays until 40 and sets scoring record and has some goat heroics then maybe, but cmon the set of potential goats all have ring > 4 . jordan did the extra credit stuff too that lebron didnt like ncaa hero and foul line dunk in dunk contest vs nique.

Yupp Jordan will always be the GOAT even as man evolves and players start becoming better than him. There's more to "greatness" than how good you were at basketball. There will eventually be someone better than LeBron, probably within the next 25 years, maybe Wiggins. They'll continue to come and go but there will never be another Jordan. Such a piece of **** person, yet so many reasons to aspire to be like him.
