Call the sample size police, but thus far Reggie Bush is only behind Michael Turner in total DYAR (112, 108 of which is receiving. Nothing for his PR TD though)

Bush is a great player in the system he is in but would not have helped the Texans. At the RB position they need a player that can carry the ball up the middle and to the edges, not just edges and catching balls outta the backfield. Solidifying the line, whether DL or OL, remains important to the Texans.

yes i do think he would have success in houston. Reggie is a rare athlete who can be a good player on any team. Whether the Texans would be contenders, I doubt it as they need an O-line and another passing target besides Andre Johson.

Reggie would have made Houston change their offensive game plan and build the offense around him

so this is certainly not "obviously stupid" but im wondering if anyone else felt the bengals should have just gone for the win in regulation vs the giants.

on the road, down by 3, bengals drive down the field, and get to the 3 yrd line with 4s left. anyone else, just say *** it and go shanahan ftw?

1. GMs make draft picks, not coaches.

2. Mario Williams has been the better NFL player thus far in their careers.

despite the fact that they're listing it as dyar, it's actually yar. fo hasn't started adjusting for opponents yet. notice that yar and dyar are the same on their charts. i don't know what's going to happen to bush but turner is likely to freefall in the rankings when they do start adjusting.

Bush probably won't - Denver is no great shakes, but the Bucs and Skins are both pretty good defenses. But like I said, sample size + doesn't belong in the thread anyway.

Yes and I was initially shocked that they didn't.

Then I remembered who coached the Bengals and was no longer shocked.

JoA,

Do you seriously think that Williams over Bush was a mistake?

I've been defending Williams > Bush since the day of the draft (although I must admit I though Brick was the way to go). I still think he is a better player but I also think Bush is definitely underrated at this point.

No, but early returns on the season seem to indicate that Bush is playing pretty well.

Yeah. He's been terrific when he's able to get into space. But I haven't seen much to suggest he's improved from tackle to tackle.

Either way you certainly can't claim its a terrible decision to draft Williams as both he and Bush seem pretty solid at this point.

At least they didn't take VY, now that would have been a mistake.

Lane Kiffin sent Sebastian Janikowski out to attempt a 76 yard field goal today. This has to qualify, especially with Antonio Cromartie back there to attempt to return it. I don't care how much wind there is, there can't be any possible way that he could kick a 76 yard field goal. I'm pretty sure at this point Lane Kiffin just wants to get fired so he can get paid and not have to put up with Al Davis anymore.

Bump for the weekly Romeo Crennel excitement.

Your QB has a 16.7 passer rating through 3 quarters. You spent 2 #1 draft picks on the backup. You don't make a change.

Yeah thats why I don't think qualifies, cause it was a coach intentionally doing something stupid to make a point. It reminded me of last year when the Patriots were blowing out someone or the other, Buffalo I think, and Belichick called a punt on 4th down when they were almost in the red zone. It was a giant 'eff you' to everyone who had been complaining about him running up the score, and I don't think it would have qualified for this thread either.
