ESPN: People love NFL Primetime but hate Sportscenter. What to do? I got it! Let's chop up NFL Primetime into little pieces and sprinkle it throughout SC - then they'll have to watch SC. Brilliant!

Well that didn't work, now what? Let's move NFL Primetime to the next day when no one cares anymore. And make it crappier. It's making Sportscenter look bad. Instead of two hosts talking over highlights, lets have 3 or 4 hosts standing around playing grab-ass with each other on a fake football field.

Well now the ratings for everything are down and we have to lay everyone off. Damn you millennials!

Of course ratings are down. We know who scores 15 seconds after it happens. We don't need produced TV shows telling us who won the ballgames and who scored all the points anymore.

I still watched NFL primetime every Sunday. The internet has been around a long time. Knowing the final score or who scored isn't the only thing.

That show was awesome despite having Chris Berman as the host! I think what actually did it in was moving the late games to 4:25, eliminating the 7:30-8:30 time slot.

I hated Merrill Hodge but I believe it was him, Sal, and jaws that did a show that escapes me now like Monday or Tuesday that was awesome. They broke down all kinds of plays throughout games and discussed them. That's the **** I want to see. Now it's just (after a tom Brady loss but he won 5 in a row) "Is Brady washed up!?"

At what point does it reflect a failure in coaching if your players do absolutely brain dead things during game time?

On two separate plays during the last Rams drive, the receivers got tackled in bounds fighting for 2 or 3 useless extra yards when they could have easily run out of bounds to stop the clock. It cost them like 20 seconds both times since they had no timeouts left.

Belichick got criticized (justifiably) for some of his decisions yesterday, but to his credit it's very infrequent that I see a Patriot player make an absurdly dumb mental mistake with the game on the line.

Yeah he's somehow become a serious football analyst. Not just "See this guy here, comes up and makes the stop. Bam! That's good!" - like 99% of them.

Greg Cosell is awesome! He does pretty technical all-22 reviews and a podcast for the Eagles website (like the one below from the Rams game last night). We're lucky to have him.

I like NFL Matchup because it's like 99% better than every actual show, but I wish they'd go more in depth on specifics and how coaches change their gameplan to adjust as the game goes on.

90% of NFL Matchup analysis is just "Here's a play where everybody executes their blocks and the RB gets a big gain because the play is well blocked"

Some site called edjsports considers Vance Davis decision to kick field goal down 4 with a few minutes left in 4th and 1 from the 6 to be the worst call on record with basically a 26 percent chance to win if they kick and 60 if they go for it

Maybe but pretty sure everyone said it was awful then. The new and short overtime make ties more likely to matter. If it motivated the Colts the rest of the year then ok.

the Colts were 1-2 going into the Houston game, the chances of a tie leaving them 1/2 game short of the playoffs was >>>>> the chances of a tie helping them make the playoffs by 1/2 game.
