I know Joanne Courtney, the third for sweeting's team. They're kicking ass. I'd love to see them win.

Ron Burgundy was kind of a bust...

man ron burgundy was hilarious this weekend - my fav (paraphrased)

(some rookie skip needs a relatively easy takeout for 2, and analysts are explaining this to Ron)

Ron: What do you think her chances are of making the shot?
Chick: Pretty good
Russ: It's a relatively easy shot
Ron: ...she's never going to make it - impossible shot...I know

(she's not even close)

silence
Ron: ...told you - absolutely impossible shot

BUMP ahead of tonight's Scotties final between Canada (Homan) and Alberta (Sweeting).

Saskatchewan (Lawton) currently leading Manitoba (Carey) for the bronze.

Yeah. Winter sports aren't very popular here, except when the Olympics are on. I know we had a women's team do well 4 or 8 years ago.
I'm not sure I could name many of our winter sports people. Luge woman, and Eddie the Eagle are about it.

I'm rooting on Joanne Courtney and Sweeting's rink. This finals isn't looking too good after 4 ends though. Homan's rink is really good.

Win or lose, huge year for the Alberta girls.

Also, I curled yesterday in a rec league. The only end I skipped (we rotate), we stole 3. We're in first place out of 18 teams. I'm considering going pro.

The Olympics are on, and our prime minister is at the women's national curling championships. If I voted, he would have just got my vote.

Jennifer Jones deserved a shot at the Olympics but it's all HOMAN from here on out.

The rest of Homan's team are competitive with other top teams, not a level above or anything, but Rachel is the greatest female curler ever and it's not close. Her understanding of the game is up there with the top men's guys and she's so young too. Also, she is the best in the world- women or men at judging rocks/when to call the sweepers on or off.

Homan looks like the least fun human I've ever seen. I think I'd rather be stuck on an island with a volleyball named Wilson than have a conversation with her.

She's hot and good at curling though.
