Afghanistan-India tomorrow morning. They beat the US to qualify among other teams. Would be sick if they won.

After they beat both Aus and Pak in warmups I'm really curious to see how Zimbabwe plays. One problem with thier warmup result is that teams won't take them as lightly anymore.

sucks that the whole Mugabe regime destroyed Zimbabwe cricket, they were turning into a really competitive side.

Afghans available at 34 right now. I actually think they win more than 3% of the time, but probably like, 4 or 5%.

And they will be batting, hope they don't get bowled out for 80...

If there is gonna be an upset, most likely scenario is Pak not making it out the group stage. Bangladesh can bat and is capable of making 170+, pakistan are probably gonna lose to Australia and with thier internal problems if Bangladesh bat first and put a ton of runs on the board, I see an upset.

Of course. It wouldnt be cricket without an Australian finding a reason to whinge and complain ala Ponting and Brett Lee is years gone by...

Afghanistan have made 115 vs India. Not a bad effort, probably not enough to be a real challenge, but a good positive sign compared to some of the teams getting destroyed in the 50 over competition in the last 3 editions or so...

Not sure who I want to win out of Pakistan vs Bangladesh in terms of qualfying from the group. If Pakistan win and we beat them in the next game, we could lose to Bangladesh and go out on the overall runrate. If the Pakis win and we lose to the Pakis we have to win the last game. Hopefully Pakistan lose both of their group games and there is no uncomfy sweat going into the Bangladesh game...

India fans should remember this one for years, their fast bowlers taking wickets with short deliveries, it may never happen again.

I wouldn't worry about Pak vs. BD too much if you're from Australia. Even in T20 with the variance and all, if it comes down to needing to beat the bangers and you lose, you probably didn't have much of a chance anyway. What a great group to draw too as the 9 seed.

LOL, and I was there at the Oval to witness the best spell of fast bowling by an England bowler in an Ashes Test since....... Freddie at the Lord's Test a few weeks beforehand

Gogogo Bangers imo, would be epic funny if they won this.

need 59 off 36

Ashraful is teh awesome

Aamir has an over left so they need a 15 run over to combat that one.

It'll be sick if they pull it off and then if Pak beat Aus

If Ashraful hadn't played that ******ed ramp shot like 7 times for 2 runs and getting out the bangers might have had a chance, but w/e. At least Pakistan will probably get through and we won't see Afridi lose the captaincy or have to pay some huge fine again.

So, India-SA and Aus-Pak tomorrow. Kind of meaningless games really but the cricket action should be of a higher quality.

South Africa need over 2 runs a ball from here on in... Big ask...

Looking forward to our game. I want a big win to guarantee advancing, but even if we lose, Id like to think that we can win the flip vs Bangladesh, which IMO is a 70/30...

They made 57 in the first 10 overs. They would've had a real chance if they timed thier assault right.

Do they not have speed guns installed in this tourney?. I haven't seen the speed of a ball yet. It'll be pretty silly if they don't have them for a WC coverage considering they have them for indian domestic competitions.

Apparently they are installed but malfunctioning badly. Cricinfo commentary has a live feed that shows the speed guns but they keep working for 2 overs and then showing stuff like Dirk Nannes bowling 101 mph or Tait bowling 56, so they haven't been on tv. Kind of disappointing given that it's not particularly hard to set these up and they've been having problems at both venues.

The pitch for today's games is a belter, big ground and slowish outfield and all four innings still went for a lot of runs. Some really outstanding hitting.

Once again I can't believe how bad cricket commentators are. In the first game they're complaining about how Kallis and Smith are leaving too much to do for the late order (which was true). But then the same guys in the second game are talking about all the "rash and unnecessary shots" played by Pakistan in basically the exact same situation. Ravi Shastri in particular is just ugh. The guy has just about the greatest voice in sports and the worst opinions.
