id rather he didn't. all proper present day allrounders get knackered by 30 or so(oram, flintoff) with the endless schedule, its almost just too much opening the bowling and have to bat in the top 7 as a batsmen with all the preparation he needs to put in before matches in the nets and the pressure he puts the side under when one aspect of his game isn;t on form.
I think hes better of been an opening bowler/first change who bats at 8 where although he takes his batting seriously his main concern is bowling because his bowling qualities are so good that he can be a genuine world class bowler. Kallis has just about got through his career by being a reluctant bowler and bsically rationing his spells. If he bowled like bresnan who in reality is a fourth bowler in a international bowling attack, i could see him batting 7.
obviously unbelievable day. with the new ball well gone and the forecast good for tomorrow theres a real chance one or both of these guys can go on to get a really big score if someone can hang around for a bit at the other end.
didnt want to post during the day in case i jinxed the partnership!!
