Great draw, NO ONE beats this England team 4 times in a row!

England had lost their last 4 Tests in Australia, and with a draw before that streak, had lost 8 Tests in a row before that.

Last time England played two Tests in Australia without losing one was Melbourne and Sydney 2010/11, both wins for England.

needed about 120 runs to win by the end, and with approx 60 overs denied to us by the rain it could've been a victory with different weather. that's only 2/over

I'm just glad it wasn't R.A.I.N Pererra that was MotM for England. I'm giving that to Bairstow.

Come on then guys, let's hear your England team for the 5th test in Hobart.

Lots of potential change with injuries, form, resting, rotation and different conditions with the day/night pink ball.

Here's mine:

Burns
Crawley
Malan
Root
Stokes
Bairstow
Billings
Wood
Robinson
Leach
Anderson

I could be way off but here's my thinking:

Burns comes in for Hameed because of form (likely won't happen, but I think it should)

2, 3, 4 are no brainers.

I'm making a big assumption that Stokes and Bairstow will be fit to play. Stokes not bowling and Bairstow not keeping mind you. If they're not fit then Pope and Lawrence could come in to play.

Billings to keep and not Pope because as well as Pope did, he's not really a keeper.

I picked the bowlers because you need Leach and Wood for variation (and they both just played really well). Robinson is rested and playing really well so I'm picking him. I chose Anderson over Broad for a couple of reasons. He's got the better economy and the wickets are variance imo. Also likely to be Andersons last test in Australia and would be cruel to rest him. Tough call though.

I'm not picking Woakes over anyone there just to make the tail shorter. He doesn't offer much with the ball in Australia that you can't get better from someone else.

Batters are just gonna have to do their job.

Hopefully they can, not been much evidence that they can over the last few years

I don't think Bairstow will be fit to bat. Could be wrong. And I don't think Stokes should play through injury. Just take the L.

Billings to open and T-off. Woakes is as good as Jimmy in Australia - and does shore up the batting, theoretically. Broad in the team to take the wicket of Warner.

I merely stated some stats.

I’m not a moron like you. I’m happy for England.

Anyone hear the latest Joe Root interview for TMS. He seems tired and grumpy.

They ask about the pitch "haven't had a chance to look at it yet"

Any word on Stokes and Bairstow injuries? "Gonna assess them in the upcoming days"

Every questions was answered in a grumpy and elusive tone. You'd think salvaging a draw would boost morale, but I guess he's just that tired and over it. Hopefully it doesn't affect his form. Would be great to take something positive out of the last test. A draw, a Root ton. Anyone scoring runs or getting wickets.

Very sporting of the convicts to let us play on a green top now the series is over to try and make one of the tests a bit more competitive.
