I'm not happy about this Bairstow century, it means we are going to get another summer of him in the test side.

Always knew Bairstow was a test player. Always believed in him, never hadn't. Make him captain.

Is he still playing county? This point still kind of stands if so albeit with different **** openers

The lack of diversity in all historic Aussie squads in general does point to systematic racism within the whole fabric of the game over there though... NZ is not much better in that regard. There is a massive potential player pool both sides have not accessed properly

This systemmic racism point is total nonsense. Honestly, where are you pulling this rubbish from?

Cricket is hardly played in schools and is a relatively more inconvenient game for your kids to play than other sports due to the time it takes to play and the time of year it’s played at.

So the kids who play it are far more likely to be weighted towards the kids of parents who played or had a history in the game because it’s those parents who encourage their kids to play it.

the ethnic origins of non Caucasian Australians just aren’t from cricketing nations outside of the 2% from India. Outside of the UK, the majority of our immigrants come from South East Asia and Southern Europe…countries with no cricketing background. And for whatever reason the indigenous population of Australia (a little less than 3% of all Australians) are far more passionate about the football codes than cricket despite the significant investment in developing cricket in indigenous areas

2nd Test starting tomorrow, this is the pitch.

I hope we win the toss and bowl or Ebadot could destroy us again lol

Pitch is not easy but Latham and Young batting brilliantly. Bangla possibly a little hungover still too...

Scott Boland couldve been and could be the greatest Test Fast bowler of all time.

Shame aussie cricket racism has kept him out till now, almost 33 years old. What a waste

hameed was dropped by the aussies in both of his innings in this test and still didn't make double figures in either

crawley 50 off 68 balls, well done but cant help feel this is a curious approach in a game where we have 2% win chances

you have to play your game even if a win isn't possible. The vast majority of people will get out sooner if they shut up shop and go into survival mode. A couple of South African exceptions spring to mind however.

oh and Crawley is also on audition for an openers spot, so there's that too.

i like graham thorpe

the fact is that if malan hadnt tried to cut a full straight one to the boundary he might still be there. idiocy.

stokes knows how to block/leave when necessary, hopefully he ends up with 60 runs off 225 balls
