Brandes is definitely the one who first used the biscuit sledge on McGrath. Ranatunga is the one where Healy told Warne to put a mars bar on a length and they'd stump him

Also there was one where Ranatunga asks for a runner in a ODI in Australia and Healy shouts "You dont get a runner for being fat, lazy c**t!"

Did you see the game though?

One of the worst umpiring decisions I've ever seen (and it was by the local umpire obv) when Sharma should have been given out second ball. Vettori's first delivery and Sharma basically middled it onto his pad and the ball gently arced up and into McCullum's gloves. Umpire Saheba said not out, but if he didn't think the batsman hit it then it was plumb in front and and should therefore have been a stonewall lbw. Made Tony Hill's miss of the Michael Clarke nick seem tame in comparison. Sharma had just the one run at the time, and went on to make 44. Game changer imo.

As for best sledge, this one is my favourite

Lol, England are probably 3rd favorites at best for the world cup if not 4th. Let's not get carried away brah .

I'd call India huge favorites too if we didn't have a habit of choking in every big tournament we enter as favorites. The last 2 WCs we did well in (2003 and 2007 t20) there were no expectations from us because we came in woefully out of form or were missing superstars. That's why I don't know if I want us to have a good series in SA or not..

And yea that decision was an absolute shocker but it's cricket, Franklin was plumb lbw a couple of times and not given too. It's not like the decision was in the 45th over against pathan where if he gets out it's all over so you can attribute the whole win to it, India still had a long way to go..

lol india. youll find some way to lose it. and your playing new zealand who lost 4-0 to bangladesh. but i do agree you are rightly favourites given the lack of quality of the other teams.

also i could get pathan out, like most domestic players from india with a lack of international experience he has a real problem against short balls and if he is coming it near the end he can;t afford to duck under a load of bouncers.

oh and i think england are nailed onto lose the next test. losing broad is a devastating blow. before the series i said if swann or broad get injured we have no chance. obvioulsy we are in a great position so far now and we have a good chance given how **** australia are but i think broads injury coupled with the ******ed decision to let anderson fly around the world and back to see his second child been born with a week before test matches means we are nailed on certainties to lose the perth test. a shame for me considering the only test i decided not to goto was the adelaide test(which i watched in bars/pubs with a mixture of glee and regret) and i think we might lose now.

I really don't see how you can say that. But if you think so then hit up Bet365 or somewhere like that as they have Oz at 9/4 against to win the 3rd test.

Re Anderson, I guess it's a question of keeping him happy and in the right place mentally V the propect of a little jet-lag. Without knowing him I can't really comment on whether it's a good move for the team.

In order for England to lose the third test, Australia would have to take 20 wickets. I don't think they could do that if England went home.

Aus chances will go up dramatically if Warne plays, from what his said I'm pretty sure he would come back if the team want him but wont if it causes some sort of rift Has to be while the ashes are still live so the time is now. I so hope he plays.

and dont forget what a muppet Buchanan is, T-shirts and banners should be handed out to remind people just what a prat he is (and for pete sake sack him as an England consultant).

If Warne cameback then you can put yourhouse on us for the Ashes. He has a strange psychological hold on 3/4 of the English dressing room; you just have to look at the form Bell is in at the moment now that Warne has retired imo.

Seriously though, I dont think the series is anywhere over yet. Never underestimate the poms to implode and its impossible to erase the pathetic losing culture of English cricket (the argument could be made for English sport in general) in two seasons of decent performances. I cant see us losing in Perth or Melbourne, measning it could well come down to Sydney if they produce a turning pitch for Swan (most overated spinner ever imo)

the warne thing is never happening. i cant decide if the aussies in this thread and in general are being serious or what. england would love warne to play in the next test.

you really think warne is going to be able to bowl 30 overs in a day, you really think hes gona be able to sit at slip all day and take chance after chance like he use to. you really think hes gona be able to even see the bowling coming at him when hes batting. i mean hes 41 and hasnt played competitive cricket for 4 years. has anyone actually watched him in the ipl last year?

his bowling got a load of tap in last years ipl, he can still turn the ball but he no longer has the dip. bowling 4 overs in a few matches once a year is hardly preparation for bowling a load of overs in a test match. australias desperation is evident simply from this whole movement and unless the australians above me are levelling me (was going to make a comment about australians in general but dont want to offend anyone) i dont think the ones above know much about cricket

What we would really love is for you lot to give Doherty another go.

You might be right about Warne being past it, its hard to say but if he wants to play then there's an easy option. Play him in the tour match starting tomorrow (or some other first class game if there are any) and see if he can stlll bowl.

I think I heard somewhere that he's in England now (?). Anyway, it beats me why they want a full time spinner anyway when nobody is even close be being good enough (unless they want safe option to half tie-up and end like Hauritz). Just let North bowl some spin and let the seamers continue to aim at the English players' bats.

a "past it warne" is still >>>>> than any other spinner playing test cricket atm. Even if Warne wasnt up to much with the ball his presence on the field would be enough to turn the tide of the series. English supporters seem to have convieniently forgotten the psychological damage the Warne has inflicted on so many English batsmen over the years .

edit: obv Warne couldnt come out of retiremtn immediately but im pretty certain that with 10-15 weeks preparation he and a couple other retired Aust players (McGrath, Hayden, Gilchrist, Langer) would easilly slot into our side atm. Hodge, Tate and B Lee are also better players then the fools that we currently have but are all unavailable for differring reasons. ATM its more lack an England v. Australia A .

chopchop - will you be digging up Don Bradman's festering corpse to bolster the batting? Perhaps bring in Dennis Lillee to spice the attack up?

Interesting 12-man squad picked by Oz. It someone manages to look both short on bowling and batting at the same time.

He is, was pictured in the paper today viewing the urn at Lords. No way is he going to play test cricket again
