England lose to Ireland?

Yeah

A lot of England regulars weren't playing because of the test though. No Stokes, Buttler, Archer, Wood or Woakes.

Plus they'd already won the series

Plus Morgan was off the field for most of the Ireland innings

Plus Ireland batted well

Plus lolEngland

England and getting absolutely thrashed in the opening test of a series, name a more iconic duo... I'll wait.

Will there be enough play today for Buttler to get himself out?

Great to beat up on the West Indies but England’s batting lineup is not good enough against good attacks

The fact that Stokes bats 4 shows this.

ya any situation where you have stokes coming in against opening bowlers with new ball is just lol use of your best asset

Actually really annoys me that drop in pitches are becoming more prevalent in Australia. When players run alongside the pitch, they can't slide in on soft spongy grass as opposed to unused pitches and you get things like this.

Id like to think that groundskeepers can be better to the point of at least rolling the grass half a strip or so alongside the actual pitch to be firmer.

Not just for running between wickets mind you, but also playing shots along the ground. The first bounce or two of a square drive should come out somewhat quickly, not stuck into the grass obviously.

England can pull off this win tonight but I'm just aghast that Stokes keeps coming on and getting wickets.

I’m more surprised he bowled. We picked a side based on Stokes just being a batsman, hence batting at 4. If he’s fit to bowl, we should’ve picked another batsman instead of a bowler.

I don't think we knew he would be fit to bowl though, but yeah, if we knew he could then I don't think we needed Woakes

Who would’ve thought it would be Woakes the batsman who gets us into a position to win

Woakes is bowling better than any England bowlers right now with the possible exeption of Broad.
