Early in for England losing the Ashes - Aussie team still got Warner and Smith to come in.

Edit: also early call for dedicated ashes thread (and for the WC too).

This thread is virtually dead gets like 3 posts week, why do you need a dedicated ashes thread?

Why do we still play Jennings? Like Ramps/Hick averaged 60 in FC, Jennings is @34 from 100+ matches ... which suggests he isn't that good ... what am I missing?

The cupboard is bare, but it's still surprising they haven't taken a punt on someone else. This could be his last series though.

Hicks was a flat track bully. Nothing wrong with that. If his test debut hadn't been so delayed maybe he'd have done better. Maybe not.

Ramps really is a mystery. I put it down to the selectors not giving him unequivocal runs.

**** me Warnie loses me sometimes.

Not picking Starc and favouring Richardson. I can't believe he wouldn't recognize that both Cummins and Richardson are basically the same bowler and we need the variety that a left armer brings (I'm still not convinced his form warrants the criticism he is getting anyway as I can tell you any batsman would rather face Richardson than Starc).

Secondly who the **** is this Dan Worrall guy - just because he plays for the Stars and Victoria doesn't mean he should be mentioned as a back-up ashes test bowler when he has played hardly any shield cricket and averages 30 with the ball. **** me - and **** off Peter Siddle even being considered. Warnie must be spending too much time on the felt.

It was the highest last-wicket stand in a successful fourth-innings chase in first-class cricket.

The previous highest last-wicket stand to win a Test was 57 by Pakistan's Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mushtaq Ahmed against Australia in Karachi in 1994.

Up there with Lara's 153 chasing against Australia in the 90s.

Lol BBL final today.

Renegades bat first make a below par score.

Stars need 70 off 10 overs ten wickets in hand Dunk and Stoinis set, Maxwell, Handscomb, Bravo, Maddinson still in shed.

Lose easy.

Would sending out the worst batsmen at the top of the order and having them go for a maximum strike rate to start a T20 inning be an incredibly stupid thing to do?

Isnt that what they do with Narine? Not the worst batsmen but just told to hit every ball at the top of the innings.
