Jackson Bird is just another one of those fast bowlers who can't transfer his first class form into test cricket. It has often be said that to really make it these days you need to be able to bowl consistently between 135kmh to 140kmh and if you don't be able to swing it or have good variation. Well he has neither ability and tbh when I'm scratching my head for a replacement is Andrew Tye a good option?

I'm happy to eat my words on Broad's batting and commitment to the team. He's still lacking the spine he once had against the fast bowlers but his eye seems to be making up for most of that deficiency.

He's been OK with the ball and has got key runs at times. Replace him with a slightly worse bowler who bats at 10, take out Starc, and this is a different series.

Yeah Cook alone would have a couple more 50s and maybe another century - Root too. The Australian batting was meant to be a levelling force (excluding Smith but that is a big exclusion).

To be fair, with average run good for both sides for all things Oz are clearly better at home, but 5-0 would have been pretty outrageous. Still could happen though I guess.

He got a bouncer (can't remember who from) that went through the grill of his helmet which ****ed up his face a bit. He was never the same batsman after, and even admitted that it shook him up pretty bad.

I don't think it's fair to talk about Australia's lack of injuries as if that's somehow unfair on England, who also had no injuries right (Moeen???)? The lack of Stokes definitely hurt, but that's his own fault. Pietersen is still good enough to get in this England team right? But again, he's a dick. Different to getting an injury. I hope England make it 3-2 but a deserved victory to Australia. Congrats.

BTW I think Sam Curran, Tom's brother, is a future superstar.

The radio mentioned that his Test average pre that delivery was 24 and since was 14 or something. Basically one ball singlehandedly turned him from a useful 8-9 to a bunny.

Chadd sayers is worse than Bird imo. He is slower too. We don't need two bowlers in the line up where the keeper can come up to the stumps. I think there is a quick down in Tasmania that could be a good prospect (forget his name).

EDIT: Bell is his name. He would probably have a few more wickets too if Bird wasn't in the team.
